hehe, I like Phd
I never realy like Redmeat, not sure why.... Just dont
MegaTokyo, VGCats, and Penny Arcade. Sometimes Ctrl-Alt-Del. This is funny... my friend always wears MegaTokyo shirts to school, he has a collection.
I suppose some more incentive than simply giving the names is in order...
Real Life Very loosely based on the author's life, and by extension it's very often a gaming webcomic. Storylines often lead to improbable and hillarious situations (such as Tony building BattleMechs, or Greg's Shirt Ninja antics). One of the few webcomics that manages to make me laugh out loud.
Polymer City Chronicles This one's kind of odd. It started off as a gaming webcomic with a healthy supply of not-really-all-that-bad puns. It then launched into a very, very long story arc about the characters' backgrounds, which was all serious and detailed. Unfrotunately, this long story arc was cut short because, well, it was taking too long. At the moment, it seems to be storyline (rather than gag) based. Nice art.
Penny Arcade I assume everyone knows PA by now. Often violent, almost always caustic, sometimes political, usually amusing commentary on what's going on in gaming. Very much a language warning.
Sinfest Funny stuff. Sinfest is (kinda) about different takes on religion, relationships, good and evil, and the difference between dogs and cats. It almost always manages to be quite insightful, and really funny at the same time.
Mac Hall Comic about college life. More specifically, about the author and the people around him. Often hillarious. Excellent quality art.
Megatokyo Drawn in manga style. Pays homage\mocks practically everything in manga\anime. If you like your anime, you'll appreciate the references in this one (and find them hillarious.) If you don't, you probably won't get most of the jokes.
Exploitation Now Kinda manga style. It's about... how can I describe it... the exploits of a moogle ripoff and a porn star (who are flatmates), their scary landlord (who is a 16 year old supergenius and supervillain) and various other supporting characters. Kind of evolves from random jokes and gratuitous fan service (and jokes about gratuitous fan service) to a somewhat darker and engaging storyline (although, one gets the impression that parts of it were simply made up as he went along.) A good read, but most definately a content warning. EN is no longer being drawn (see below).
Errant Story By the same guy who created Exploitation Now, so it's also manga-esque. The difference is that it's in a fantasy setting (and it seems he's paid quite a bit of attention to fleshing out the background of the world) and it's serious rather than funny. When you reach the end of the EN archives and still want more, come to this one .
Bob and George The granddaddy of all sprite comics. It... uh... started as the author procrastinating about making a "real" comic, that you draw with a pen, and making comics about Mega Man (using sprites from the games) instead. Well, it turns out that idea stuck, and has been going for something like five years, now. Very funny, possibly even moreso if you've played the games (I haven't). Language warning.
[edit]and, just for the hell of it, I'll throw in Homestarrunner.com Not so much a webcomic as... a webcartoon. The characters are originally based on a children's book the authors wrote a long, long time ago. It's hard to describe what Homestarrunner really is. Most of the humour builds on previous jokes, and is often meme-like (TROGDOOOOOOR!... *cough*... sorry). With no idea of what's going on, it's funny stuff. When you understand all the references, it's hillarious. Cult humour. Family safe (well, except for the word "crap"). A good place to start, at the site, would be the "first time here" button on the right, and the characters page.
Oh, by the way, you may have heard references to Strong Bad, or the "Strong Bad Emails" - well, this is where they come from. And they're unquestionably the best part of the site . [/edit]
Well, the only ones I check on a semi-regular basis are Sluggy, Penny Arcade(not always willingly though, if you get my drift) and Megatokyo nowadays(where I currently haunt the boards, *throws poo at Tenebrae* ), but there are dozens that I catch up on in yearly segments when I wander that way at random. (GPF, RPGWorld, Userfriendly, etc. etc.)
Sluggy's still the best, if you ask me.

Has being going downhill since The Funny One left, and the romance plot is proceeding far too slowly for my taste. At least the old strips are great, though.
I read PA, Mac Hall, and used to read Slackerz (language warning) before the artist started writing the strips. Read some of the old ones on that site, you'll like them.
I kinda just jump about from comic to comic... but on megatokyo since the real 'largo' left, like you say, it's kinda lost it's soul. I thought the two really balanced each other out quite well with piro bringing in the drama and cuddly mushy stuff while largo kept it fresh, funky and utterly nuts. I love the whole romance/drama stuff but without the action to mix it up it's just constant and lets face it; you can only eat one kind of food for so long before you either get bored of it or constipated ^^;
Slackerz was ok... VGcats is great XD eep... I've read so many!
there's a rather epic one that finished and was really good but I can't remember it too well right now... unicorn jelly or something? Anyways that one was weird but super cool =D

I remember back in the day everyone I know kept telling me that PA and MacHall and Exploitation Now were like the pinacle of webcomics, and frankly I have always detested them, but when I was checking out PA I found a link to the first webcomics I actually enjoyed, but I forgot the name of it. It was some really long and random name and the comic was just actual pictures of this guy and his buddies and his asian girlfriend and they did completely random stuff. It was the webcomic that started my infamous theory that if you can draw, and are on the internet, you cannot also be funny (this was later disproved by VGCats). Does anyone else know which comic I am talking about?

It still disturbs me that none of you read Something Positive. (exept for nem that is )
SP is honestly the best webcomic I have ever seen:
1) Funny: I couldprobably count the number of comics that didn't make me atleast smirk on my hands.
2) Regular: He tends to have a very good update schedual (sometimes he gets off track but not that often). He will also let you know when something is keeping it late (and will very often give 2-3 comic to make up for lost days )
3) Nuff said.
go read ph33r teh bonnles kitty (chemo kitties need extra love)
In their defense, everyone searching for well drawn comics will hate SP. Milkholland just doesn't really care for the pics, he merely uses them to transport his wonderful dialogue.

No it wans't drawn, it was actual pictures of them with little speech bubbles and that was it. And once in a while a little MSPaint affect here and there. It was funny as all hell though. I've been looking all over for it, but I have no clue where to look.
