The best way to find eggs, aside from searching, is to observe someone else do it in game.
Reading about it isn't any fun.

If you want to find them, become a skulk (join aliens and f4), and go around, looking for a switch. Some of them (like hera's and daimos') is a switch that opens an "invisible" door, the other two are just fun bits in the RR.
And only delta *needs* a skulk, the others can be activated/accessed by a vanilla marine.. it's just easier with a skulk. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I only said which maps they were, not how to discover them. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Yeah, I forgot about lost.. but I always get veil/lost confused for some reason.
And I haven't seen Nancy's yet. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
its not just the cheese block right?
an unfinadable easter egg doesn't sound much fun to me <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
BTW, the secret room in hera totally reminds me of kingdom hearts, guess that just shows how much of a nerd I am <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Edit
I found Nancy, Hera and Daimos rooms. But I think there are 2 secret rooms in Nancy. I did spectator after I found the Nancy one and I saw a closed area, it was a area that looked like there was disco going on or something.
holy crap, you busted me, I just intuitively assumed that the mappers would include some random trinkit in thier maps somewhere, so I spent 2 weeks of my life finding every single one and writing it in a diary that I then proceeded to lock in a REALLY BIG safe. I did it all, just so I could feel cooler than everyone else.
The whole point of an easter egg is so that players who have already played the map a million times can dazzle silly newbies with thier vast knowlage of it. Given that it works best in game, I don't think it is nessicary to prevent the knowlage from being passed in any other way.
Seriously, I'm pretty sure that there are easter eggs on only a few of the maps. Even if it is several, I really doubt that every mapper bothered to put an EE in every one of his maps.
I don't think metal has a secret room though, other than the useable cheese thing, and don't use spectate to find out , do it the old fashioned way, more fun!
Oh and hera has a nice secret in the secret room as well, quite funny actually, some of you probably know what I'm talking about <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Anyways, these maps have easter eggs (as far as I know):
ns_hera
ns_lost
co_daimos
ns_nancy (2)
And probably more.. but dont ask me where, you have to find them yourself, as did I

no, it's not the cheese block, there's another <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I've found the others with help and help alone. I am completely useless when it comes to finding secrets in this game at the very least and it would save me a lot of frustration if there was a guide to finding them. I dont care if they are spoilers or not I just care about finding them and seeing them with my own eyes.
If anything, I would propose a guide to find the secrets be written up under the title "Secret Rooms on NS Maps" with the subtitle "SPOILERS ALERT! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!" so in the event of failing to find them or simply not having the energy to find them, one could find them with a quick reference. Those that wish to find them on their own can simply ignore the topic.

oooo! I found it!
^.^
It's kinda a flop of a secret room though.
It's way too restrective with those invisible walls. No room to fly, though it looks like there should be.
Because I've found it <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
you're talking about everyones favorite cereal captain right?
Someone said at some point that it was impossible to get to as rine? Not at all.
Was also the first place I looked, I just wasn't lucky nor listening to the sounds closely enough, and I think the secret door has a time delay on it, most of them just open immediately.
metal also has a secret bottum that opens the credits display <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
