The Lerk Rush

<div class="IPBDescription">Really effective!</div> We tried this out on our clan server last night. Marines were locked in their base on NS_eclipse. The entire team went lerk and I went onos with carapace and celerity. The idea is that the onos acts as a distraction and a meat shield while the lerks attack them while they are not looking.

Actually I was evolving to onos at the time when somoene thought everyone should go lerk and was constantly shouting it over the voice comm. I just said I would be a meat shield instead of de-volving to lerk.
Not true because Onos are extremely easy to hit because of their massive size.
Lerks on the other hand are smaller, thus if you have a whole squad of Celerity Lerks....it's like angering a fat load of bats in a cave....gets VERY annoying, and very deadly (of course, only if the bats had rabies....)
Once everyone has 30 res (shouldn't take more than a minute even on a single rt) 2 people go gorge and drop either MCs or DCs. Everyone else goes lerk. The gorges get either adrenaline or regen, and the lerks get celerity or carapace. Rush marine base together, gorges stay back and heal, lerks swoop in and out killing marines. Sounds hard to stop with either chamber, even with a shotgun or two present. Of course, if the rush fails, you're completely screwed.

Assuming a 6vs6, it will take 2 minutes for everyone to get up to 30 res. Then you have to evolve and drop chambers. By the time you are ready, marines should already have 3 nodes and be spread out. Even if your rush is devastating, they can probably relocate. From there they will probably send a group of shotguns to the hive. So, I think it's too slow for a rush at the beginning of the game, since you can't get any rt's or higher lifeforms as backup.

You can't even fit 10 onii in a base. 2, 3 onii tops + umbra/primal scream support + a gorge or two for healing, sometimes bilebomb + a bunch of random small kharaa will be much more effective.
When 10 onii charge into a base, the first one almost dies, tries to run, gets stuck on the other 9, and dies. The herd has advanced about 3 feet in the process. This continues until there are about 3 left. Yay, you're a dead onos. Fun.
The onos is the only kharaa where throwing more in doesn't make for a more effective assault.
Oh but thats 2.0 they don't have spines in 3 do they?
