Yes... well.. it was called Mr. Heat .. either that or I've just been in such a coma from lack of sleep I can't remember that thats what it was really called and I just made it up.. either way yes... I thought it was neat. Too much CG though.

Recommendations? Cowboy Bebop is AWESOME. I recommend it over anything else as a great anime to get you into the genra. Tenchi is cool, though a little kiddy for some tastes.

Well they're not taking 20 episodes per fight (yet, I should add).
DBZ just has a differant feel to Naruto. DBZ always seemed much more kiddy to me, whereas Naruto blends some quite serious stuff with bursts of humor. The artist who draws Naruto was influenced by DBZ, as is evident for example when Lee is unlocking his internal Chakra gates; the image there is quite reminisant of DBZ Sayan powerups.

Like the first episode came out, and suddenly a thousand people are clawing all over it and the manga had been out for more than 2 years... =/ C'est la vie.
If you want a very slow series where it takes forever for fights to happen. Watch Hunter X Hunter. Although unlike Dragonball Z, it is actually enjoyable to watch.
There is nothing wrong with Pokemon. It's only wrong if you're over 10 years old and still enjoy it... It's a kids series.
Hey, I loved Child's Toy, and I think that just because an anime is aimed at younger kids doesn't mean it can't be entertaining for teens or adults. However, Pokemon just doesn't really have any redeeming features for me. *shrug* personal preferance I guess.
I don't think Naruto is a DBZ clone. I feel that Naruto is much more developed and thought out, plus it appeals to older audiences. I can't see how fanboys influence the anime; it follows the manga almost word for word and any resemblance to DBZ in the anime was already present in the manga (the author says he's influenced by DBZ and that he likes the show). Unless you mean it's suddenly "cool" to like Naruto, and you're all like "Yeah well I liked Naruto when it was underground" <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
