Steam update, for those who didn't know
I browsed steampowered.com, and found this piece of information that might interest you. The individual Halflife mods played on Steam is ranked by number of current players. And NS is currently all the way down at number 6. This number might be higher at other times of the day, and will of course climb even higher when more of the community switches to Steam. Check it out for your self at http://www.steampowered.com/status/game_stats.html

most people still play on WON altho in the mornings there are NO british servers
BTW, expect the numbers to boost a bit more when 3.0 is released because hey, it's Steam only
My guess :
800
Think higher.........currently, according to csports, there are 725 players worldwide playing NS......... (and its the middle of the day now)
Hell knows what it gets up to in the evening......
just need about 40,500 more and we're #1!!
Hmmm I thought there were more peeps playing AHL than that... I haven't bothered to d/l steam yet because of the whole 750 MBs thing...hehe
Dunno how well that works though... I downloaded seeing as how that caching diden't work very well...
But that was with all the instability at the release
EDIT: I CAN'T believe we're beaten by Half-Life DeathMatch......
That's if you want every official game that Steam has to offer.
Personally, I'd recommend downloading just Steam (500kb installer) and selecting the mods you want. The content servers give a very good rate now everything has settled down.
You have to play HLDM on steam.
Most NS players play NS on WON.
Put these 2 facts together and things seem reasonable.
1st - CS
2nd - DoD
3rd - NS
4th - TFC
6th - HL DM
5th - Sven
7th - TS

For those that don't understand, this is the beta version of 3.0
1. CS
2. DOD
3. TFC
4. NS
5. HLDM
6. The Specialists
7. Sven-Coop
8. Firearms
9. Teamplay
10. Digital Paintball
The exact numbers I'm going off of are based on the number of unique names in the last month. Seeing as this isn't a precise measuring tool, I won't bother posting the exact numbers. NS has had an approximately 35% lead on HLDM for over two months. It would need to double it's player base to overtake TFC.

i wish 3.0 would come out so i could get STEAM so i could try the new Svencoop. Svencoop is no longer compatible with WON.
such a mess.
btw i think when NS 3.0 is released we will see STEAM clogged up again like when it was first released from all the people switching over to STEAM.

The menus DO work, steam just released an update that fixed this problem. Although I haven't had that problem for a long time. But, how in the hell are there more players on HL Deathmatch than ns?!?!?!

ok well i didn't know that, and that probably means many other people don't know that either and we just remember hearing that it didn't work and that is probably why many people are still resistant to switching to STEAM.

That's 22777 man hours per month at least playtesting.
Or 760 man hours per day.
Quite alot of time playtesting.
Noone would ever invest that kind of effort in their WORK
lol
