I believe IQ is alot of thing, one of them is creativity and brain activity (although some could argue they go hand in hand )

Not to rain on anyones parade, but doesn't the fact that nobody around here scored less than 120 (a score less than 10% of the worlds population is esteemed to reach) give it away? Also, IQ tests are not a simple affair of 'let's make up fifty questions'; they can take five to six digit sums to develop.
No publically showcased IQ test will be a valid one, simply 'cause it'd mean throwing ten grand out of the window. This thing is quite possibly a random number generator.

well, you can't accuratly judge that IQ test useing the all the results you got here. first not every one has a computer and not every one plays half-life and not every one plays NS, and not every one is active on this message board. sooo people who play half-life natural selection and use message boards can be considderd smart.. or nerds.

if you wanted to acualty judge an IQ test. you have to get random people off the street from diffrent parts of the world, and have them take the test. then you can judge the accuracy of the IQ test.

I know that my remark wasn't statistically correct (why should that one be an exception? ), but you've got to admit that it is strange not to see as much as a single rating below 120 around. Nerds are, in my opinion, not necessarily intelligent, they're only necessarily obsessed with something not (yet) mainstream.

ppl have asked what IQ means and no one's answered it...

IQ = intelligence quotient = mental age / actual age * 100

so, theoretically, a score of 140 would mean you could cogitate as well as an average fourteen year old when you were ten.

to be more accurate it has to be administered at a young age, since thinking ability plateaus probably in the late teens or early 20's... and since online IQ tests are administered regardless of age, they have no way of being accurate. Also, not many people believe in IQ anymore anyway -- it's pretty arbitrary...

if you enjoy the tests tho, go take the Mensa workout at least it's done by more official smart people :>

you mean official people who can't figure out the simple idea of changing shaker tops?

I'm just waiting for some people to come up for tests to find constitution, strength, wisdom, charisma and overall level so we can truely have our lives ruled by silly meaningless numbers ^^

person: "dude! I'm level 45"
employer: "I'm sorry but we only accept level 50s or above for this job position"
person: "dang! back to strangling bunnies at the petting zoo to get xp for me"

That's true, Gem. There's much more to intelligence than good test-taking skills. Einstein scored very low on an IQ test and, by the test, was considered to be retarded. How can a retarded person create the theory of relativity?

Either one of two things must be true. Either it was a fluke, and Einstein really was a retard, or the IQ test does not accurately portray intelligence. I tend to believe the latter.

For that matter, I don't think it is possible for a human mind to create a test to judge a human mind. Takes a superior being to do that.

Einstein never took an IQ test.
• SwiftspearSwiftspear Custim tital Join Date: 2003-10-29 Member: 22097Members
There have got to be a million rumors about what Einstien did and didn't do. For instance, Einstine did NOT get poor marks in school, his marks were actually always in the high/average range, people spread rumors around to make stupid people like me feel better. The rumor started with people saying that Einstine "had trouble in school" which is true, he wrote papers that critizized various christain belifes and practices, and was diciplined constantly because of it. In the end I belive he was actually kicked out of his first school.

About the IQ, high IQ is nice, but it doesn't make you a good CEO, or even a good scientist, other aspects like, knowlage, persistance, work ethic, and personality you will find get you much farther in life than a good IQ can. good IQ just improves your natural ability to do things other people plug data into a computer to do.

A few thing though, there was a few problems that involved the use of words or famouse phrases. That's a bit unfair if you've never heard the phase before. Just because you don't know that one specific piece of information, doesn't mean you're not as intelligent as someone that had heard it before. =/

It said I have a large vocabulary. I tend to disagree with this. As far as the expressions go, there are quite a few of them that I hadn't heard before that I felt I probably answered correctly.

147 here. The only one I wasn't sure of was the very last one, with the funky symbols with the arrows and squares and circles. :b Which, according to standard IQ formula, tosses me right around a 35-year old, mentally.

Bah, that IQ test sucks. First of all, it relies on the fact that you know english and math. True IQ has nothing to do with these two skills. IQ tests are more about logic and pattern detection etc and someone who's been living in a cave raised by wombats should be able to do the test(and score better than any of us).

So I suggest you head somewhere like here.

It's in finnish but don't panic, just press the "Aloita testi" down there and you'll have 40mins and 39pics. You have 8 pics and then you try to choose the one that fits as the ninth. The test is based on Ravens matrix test that is used in Mensas official tests and stuff. It's pretty interesting at times.

60 minutes in an hour. 28 miles in 30 minutes. 28*2 = 56mph.
The number sequence is decreasing by a quarter each time. 1/4 of 1/4 is 1/16.
400 = 20^2. 100 = 10^2. 3600 = 60^2. 900 = 30^2.

Your IQ score is 120

This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others.

Your Intellectual Type is Inventive Inquisitor. You have the unusual distinction of being equally good at math and verbal skills. This means you are a creative thinker and are uniquely good at teaching others through experiences. You are also a great improviser and very good at handling change.

I took it around a year ago and got 111.
