    Same thing on steam? Just put it on the half-life executable command line?

    (half-life on the games menu->properties->launch options)

    yes, although i can't edit my launch options in the 3.0 beta.
    I first start steam, and then execute the hl.exe with it's parameters manually.

    but the parameters are the same as far as i know.

    Just curious, what benefits do you gain by running NS in 32 bit mode?

    On 16 bit the smoke (i.e. lerk spores) is usually very grainy. 32 bit makes the smoke smooth and fluffy.

    you have to change halflife's launch parameters by right clicking it on your steam game list.

    There is an option in the menus in steam.

    Options-> Video

    "Run in 32 bit mode?" box should be checked.

    After NS is done installing, it should also give you a checkbox-option to turn on 32bit

    Not just the smoke, FSAA (Full screen anti aliasing) only works in 32 bit mode in half-life.
