Dear god! Make it stop!
Weellllll, a day or two ago i picked up Knights Of The Old Republic, since i found out it was released in the UK (Finally!), and guess what, it's 4am and i just finished playing.

I'm virtually nowhere in the game, but.... how can one game be so perfect. It's got a great story, amazing graphics, good characters, an excellent sound track and, most of all, it's a Star Wars game that doesn't suck! (By this i exclude X-wing and X-wing Vs Tie Fighter)

I've got several major deadlines coming up in the next week for uni and this addiction couldn't really have come at a worse time....

    Esuna has seen the light.

I beat this game in. Yes. ONE! 20 hour sitting. One 20 hour sitting. Well, I had a half hour break. I've never played a game for more than six hours. More proof that Bioware are gods, and I bow to their greatness. KOTOR is one of, if not the greatest RPG's I've ever played.

My friend's addicted too; he can't stop playing. This is the first game I'm buying once I upgrade.

Edit: You'll also want to add Star Wars: Rebellion, Dark Forces, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2, and TIE Fighter to the list of good Star Wars games.

The stupid thing is, i'm sitting here playing it, but also plotting the next time i play it too. Since my character's currently a female light jedi sentinel / thief (I know, odd combo ) my next one will be a male dark jedi fighter. I just know i won't be satisfied until i play it both ways.

Also, i'm sure i could be much further than i am now, but i've been exploring every nook and cranny and doing as many little quests as i can.

    Mission has a great arse.

*EDIT: Dark Forces was buggy as hell with poor level design. JK1-3 all had pretty interesting storylines but really bland level design which accounted for most of the time playing the game, looking for some doorway or route you've not been.

The NPCs in the game are so great. Their quality matches up with the NPCs in Planescape: Torment. You have to give a medal to Bioware for achieving that.

It took me 28 hours to finish this game, I was absolutely addicted to it.
And 28 hours is alot for one game! (I have played light side only).
Even though I think it was a little bit too easy I was playing all day(& night) long.
However, in jedi battles, I never died, and the final battle against Darth Revan was too easy too, I did not die once (and I played the entire game on medium difficulty).
The only times I died was when I met that rancor (grr! ) or when I rushed around corners, running into several dark jedi without using force powers.
In the end I just slaughtered everything without the slightest problem, using force wave, force heal, master knight speed, stasis field and master jump.

The game itself was great, the storyline is awesome, so are the items, and I just loved customizing my lightsabre with upgrading crystals.

Maybe I am going to play it again on hard and dark side, but not right now .

    *edit*
My bad, I meant Malak, not Revan.

Way to nearly spoil the end. HOLE.

I cut a good few hours off my game time because I had done Taris previously...I should play through KOTOR again as Lightside.

Esuna: HE didn't spoil anything. He came damn near though.

He meant Malak. And yeah, Malak is suprisingly easy. You'd think he'd be quite harder.

Suprisingly, the hardest fight in the game is one against like 8 Commando Sandpeople... yeah..wierd...

But anyway, yeah the game rocks. I love it. And I too kept plotting how I'd play through it the second time whilst still on my first. :D

KOTOR is the single greatest RPG out there. Aside from great controls and excellent (and suprisingly not boring) turn-based combat, it has a storyline to rival most A-grade movies. It has a twist that will blow your socks off, and the voice actors are good across the board, especially Carth whos acting was really believable (believable acting in a game? OMG!).

Balista has an enormous arse, it's like all of the moons of Jupiter jammed into a jedi thong. Not that I was examining too closely or anything o_O

Also has everybody got the lil love story going on between Your char(female/Carth or Your char(male)/Balista? I need to play again as a male character and persuade Mission to "come to the Dark Side"

Pffft, at least she's human looking....... and of legal age......

Bastilla is a bit of a stuck up little cow though, but that could just be because i'm playing as a female character with a nicer arse and a sense of style. She's jealous.

I'm still waiting for the plot that lets my character, the wookie and Mission get it on....

I am gona pick this up real soon and I was wondering about something some one said a long time ago:

The light side gives you much more of the story then dark side does and that it is worth playing through as a light side jedi first so you know wth is going on in the dark side game.......

The factor that I just typed w-t-h instead of the normal 'crass' version slightly bothers me

Is the dark side really easier then the light side? The only real difference I see is that you aren't gonna be a beggar I played through as a male scout/light jedi sentinel the first time in about 25 hours, got full lightside just before the end, not like I know what that did except make my character look cooler in the player status page.

PC version has two special lightsaber crystals that can make your lightsaber pwn. My saber at the end was a dual-blade with the Mantle, Solari, & Opila, gave around 8-30 damage, +2-12 damage to darkside, +6 attack, +2-12 damage on critical hits (and I was using master critical )
