    I think if you removed the light from the hive, all of it, then it could look better. Even the light coming out of the hive orifice, cause it should be curved not straight down (And it being curved would look silly eh?). Of course it couldn't be called the birth anymore after that because the focus would be on the fog and the marine instead of the hive.

    The marine also looks kinda silly because of those bright lights on him.

    Eh, why isn't that marine like... trying to hide? From what I think he is on the same horizontal level as the gorge

    that sucks. its horrible. you took a simple effect (probably somthing you just learned and were too eager to apply than to think of an interesting piece of work) and over did it in the picture. D-
