Readu Room Crashes

Every time after one team wins a game and everyone goes back to the readyroom, Half-Life "performs an illegal action" (the worst function Bill Gates ever thought of adding in for Windows 98 that's used whenever the computer decides to stress out its user). Is there any way to fix this? I just installed NS yesterday, and I'd like to stay in the server I play on (it's full almost 24/7). This is a nuisance...

Sorry for the typo on the topic title, I meant to say "Ready."

I sometimes get this error after the game is over and im sent to the RR.I use winXp so its not just win98. I dont know of an total fix, but i can give you some suggestions. Join a server by console. Use 3rd party joining programs such as Gamespy, ASE, HLSW. If you need help finding these programs ill provide links for them. I think this is fixed in 3.0. This might help you play several games without a crash. I do these things but occasionally still get the error. I think its caused by certain video cards, but not certain. Hope you get it fixed, and welcome.

I meant to make a note that I play NS on Steam. Yes, people, I know NS 2.0x was not made for it, but I don't got the latest build of HL and I told Steam to delete old content on accident.

Did you download the 2.0 beta for steam?

I'm not too sure, where can I find that?

Nevermind, I found it. Problem solved. Is 3.0 gonna be compatible with both Steam and WON?

    No

    3.0 is Steam only

this is b/c the WON servers are suposedly being shut down (the info was that once Steam worked for every one bye bye WON, now that steam seems to be working and we still have won, I don't know)
