Whats your personal preference on gorges?
Like/dislike
when you go gorge do you stay gorge for the whole game or switch to onos/fade, etc.
What do you think about there combat.
I personally like them, and good gorging can make or break the Aliens game. so its pretty much a like situation.
When I go Gorge, I usually stay for the whole game, sometimes I may go lerk or fade to help an attack.
Gorges can be pretty useful in combat. Spit, Healingspray,etc.

I:
- Like
- Permagorge (relatively often)
- A good gorge does indeed make or brake some games. They can certainly brake the game if they want to be llamas, and no one will ever know they did it. I've seen some gorges specifically put OC's and WEBS on RT spots and other nonsense. I've also seen some gorges **** healing stations (3 DC's 3 MC's, fully ready to go) in seconds to prep for a battle, making even a single onos nearly indestructable when he can just walk back to the healing station and completely refill on health in 3 clicks.
-Combat gorges require specific setups to overcome their disadvantages. I.e. Celerity[Run in and out of battle], Regeneration[Regain HP while hiding], Cloaking[lets not be stupid, a gorge is never truly the equal of a good marine till he gets webs, so hiding is necessary] for me.
When a combat gorge gets web, its over, even for the heavies.
-Basic gorges on the other hand tend to require a specific setup also. For me; Adrenaline[for continuous healsprays], Regeneration[to recover minor hits], SoF[to avoid enemies or head towards battles for support].
As for the different types of gorges, I've seen really really good and really really bad versions of each.
Just heal heal heal the ocs.<!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

I build rts and ocs to defend them, and upgrade chambers as needed. I usually save for a hive to and I have been known to put up one, skulk until I can put the other up and then go gorge and put a hive up again (and yet still be the 2nd-3rd best alien player <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->)
Usually I start out by running off, gorging, dropping a res tower, and then going back to a skulk. Then I run around and rip up 'rines, until I get enough RFK to do something useful. Usually I save up for more chambers (or a second hive if im doing really good). Sometimes i'll go Lerk or Fade, if my team needs that kind of support (unfortunatly its not often, as by the time I'm ready to go Fade, all the res **** have already done so). I tend not to stay gorge permanently though, because I usually blow all my resources in one shot (hive, chambers, etc), and I hate sitting around waiting for more resources when I could be killing rines. That and i'm not a very good Battlegorge <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->. After that, I generally save for bigger evolutions to fight off the mean upgraded marines. If additional combat classes aren't needed, I gorge again and put up a 3rd hive and then start making WOLs, healing & bombing on the front lines, and then eventually Battlegorging on the final push into the rine base (when the rines are too busy shooting Onos to bother with me <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->).
The only thing I hate about my "usual tactic" is that I haven't been an Onos in months. I'm serious. I actually can't remember the last time I got to play as an Onos in a normal game. My desire to play as a team always seems to outweigh my desire to be a selfish jerk and res**** like the rest of the loosers i'm usually supporting <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

Sadly all to true. I'm almost never the onos - I'm the gorge keeping his sorry butt alive with healspray.
After that I usually evolve to a dolphin that can make pickaxes and use it's mental power to evolve opposable thumbs <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Check the OT forum to understand what this man is yammering about. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
i very much like the scenarios when a marine stumbles upon me building the rt and he goes like "muha, fatteh kill woop woop" and then i just own him with spit <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
so yah i like gorge, but i dont play it often

I hear ya. I think it's been about a month for me too. I also follow around the packs of strong units when I'm not doing anything else. IF it is a major attack I'll usually put up a healing station, as best as I can afford, minimum 1 dc 1 mc, so the attack reaches higher than 100% efficiency...
That said, there's nothing more fun than while as a gorg, you run into another gorg or two, and without saying a word, you guys just know to group up.
Its like the unspoken code of brotherhood for the gorgs.

That does rock. I never even thought of it that way before. Usually, on the servers I go to, Gorges get all hyper and start spitting at you and jumping when you come into their view and attract their attention (if you are another gorge). It's kind of fun to play long range tag, especially since you can just about dodge spit.

One of the best ways to use the BoG is to make a trap with bait that is surprisingly tough to kill. Have one gorge lure a marine around a corner - into your two gorge buddies. HEALSPRAY KILLS! Plus skulks can drop from cielings to finish them off.

BUT it isn't fun at all when the rest of the team can't keep areas safe for building.
"Incoming rine. Just one."
"Could a skulk come to here? The rine is almost dead."
"Er... Anyone? I have only 4 hp left..."
"Guys, seriously, only 1 skulk."

very sad...

PS: One good thing about anybody who gorges is that you can always rely on them to be cooperative. If you're trying to get something built in a certain way, or need a WoL finished <i>right now</i>, they'll always gung ho.

Seconded. The last bit that is. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
have seen my 50 res get blown away all too often because teammates dont care/dont realise if there are marines near a hive.
I spend 75% as gorge, 20% as fade and 5 as skulk preferably
