<div class="IPBDescription">clan war mode pw?</div> so yea im a newbie admin, i got a server up on steam.. i was sifting thru clanmod menu trying to find a forcefull way to turn friendly fire on :O
and all i could find was Vote for FF, then it says proceeding and i get nothing soo.. i went thru this WAR mode section of the clan mod menu and turned on CAL then ogl (i think) then after that it had warm ups and such and no FF so i was like Pfft and set it back to "public settings" i saw it come up on screen that it had been set to "public settings" "something else" and "Password:" then steam crashed :o

so i restart steam go back to the servers list and see a password on my server, but there are still 10 players in the game fragin away.. but i cant get in i tried "clanmatch" "clanwar" "war" ARG nothin.. now the server is deserted due to no fresh meat flowing in..

is there any "elite" admin guys out there that know how to...

a) how to get me back into my server =/ (possible pw's)
b) how to set the server straight (how to remove the pw)
c) how to do friendly fire? (mp_turny = 1 or something?)

TYIA!

its 69.13.18.90 btw..

    mp_tournamentmode 1 or (in 3.0) mp_friendlyfire 1 (I *think*).

    I have no idea for the other things though... Tried ""? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

if you have rcon to the server, use HLSW (www.hlsw.org) and set the password to "" by using

    sv_password ""

or get someone with rcon access to do that.

Otherwise just restart the game server.

well it happened my fellow admin friend knew the "temp" password used during those matchs "0" is the pw :o

mp_tourny 1 and friendlyfire 1 didnt do anything either

weve been at a loss trying to get friendly fire on, and id be looking for something that doesnt req the server to restart to take effect

are you using the word "tourny" or "tournament" and have you put a "mode" at the back of those words as in:

    "mp_tournamentmode 1"
    or
    "mp_tournament 1"

also, make sure "mp_teamplay 1" is on.

yea i was saying "tourny" for short, but it didnt work ill try just tournament 1 and that mp thx

and can this be done from console by a full lvl clan mod based admin or is R-con needed?

If you set a new RCon password, and then forgot it, with nobody else knowing it, is there a way to get it back or change it?

On each server map change, it SHOULD re-read your server.cfg and reset your rcon password to whatever's in there. If you set your rcon in the command line and left it at that, you'd have to kill and restart the server (if you have access) or speak with your nice server runner guys to help you out.

The best method by far, however, is just setting yourself up with a full admin account using your won/steam id and a complex password, and then (when nobody is around, of course) type in admin_rcon rcon_password <pass> and go from there.

As for setting mp_tournamentmode 1, I would assume you'd have to use your rcon password or some form of cm_tournamentmode (I've never personally used clanmod). For your passworded game, you could try something to the effect of cm_nopass, because I know admin_nopass will unset any password in affect.

Hope this helps you both out!

It only reads your server.cfg on startup. If it is Clanmod, go into your admin settings, and fix your password, if it's rcon restart your server. If it's rcon and restarting the server doesn't help. add in server.cfg
    sv_password ""

Im pretty sure that the "Password::" bit is showing what the server password is.... not a password for the settings.

I use clanmod for my clans server, but aint really used them, so dont take my word for it....

well like i had said b4 the last 3 posts.. My friend DID find the password and got in and then whiped thru the clanmod menu and set it back to normal

i know my Rcon password but untill bluewolf said something i didnt know how to do it thru console, any idea why u need Rcon to do FF on/off that is..

btw how would i even use my rcon powers if i couldnt get in the server in the first place, unless Rcon means.. Remote console (ei) can access the server from HL console in the multipayer menu or something?

    wouldnt have a clue
-uber newb admin, the tips are great tho guys!

All seeing eye will allow you to reset the password from its nice user interface assuming you have the rcon password. Its a great tool for helping out with server administration check it out here:

Theres a stickied post with a bunch of server selector programs, HLSW is by far a better choice (The thread is either in Tech Support or New Player)
