    I don't remember if this is still going on but there used to be a Sunday Training Course every week not too long ago. It was run by the clan "pandas". If you go to the General Forum, check the posts at the very top, there is one (don't remember the name, but you will know it when you see it) for details. We went through a whole "Newbie Training" phase not too long ago, remnants of that can still be found.

    I can't personally help you, but good luck in your training. There are likely to be plenty of NS Forum Regulars, Veterans or Testers willing to help.

    I did see a server the other day called the sandbox marine training facility, it has bots on aliens and all the noobs join the marines, its good for practice as the aliens aren't a huge threat. Only problem is its all new people all the time so no-one really knows whats happening. Its good for you if theres one experienced player though.

    Hey, I just downloaded NS thinking it would be easier to learn, but was dead wrong after 10 minutes of playing. I'm just looking for any good written info on any sites that could explain and show the basics of the game.

    One quick question though. I've been playing CS for a long time, and I'm use to getting 50% headshots, does NS have any such spots that do more damage then others?

    NS has no area-locational damage, or "headshots".

    I learned mostly by lurking at these forums, reading the (outdated) manual, and hours of playing.
    Also, you could always ask in-game, but chances are that people will scream "omg n00b!!1" on some servers. Ah well.

    Reading the FAQ and the (outdated) Manual (accessable by the World link on the front page) will give you a good idea what's going on. If possible, you could find a server that will allow you to spectate. Monkey see, monkey do. There are newbie-friendly servers as well. Playing it is the easiest way to learn, but you cannot learn it in ten minutes. It is a little immersive.

    There are no headshots, but I believe damage is more effective if you shoot a hitbox directly. (Correct me if I'm wrong.)

    I dont think so, as how could you shoot a hitbox INdirectly? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
    ASFAIK, the hitbox takes equal damage in all areas.
