<div class="IPBDescription">2 screenshots</div>Hey these pictures are basically what I need input in. I just need the mian stuff about it and what and how I can improve this map so far as I am new to this mod. The ceiling is pretty blank and the r_speeds are "just about" fairly good.

*EDIT* On one of the pictures the floor grate is alot brighter than the actual room. This has now been changed, the Gamma was left default at 1.00000 *EDIT*

    Looking good, but i dont like the floor in second picture, i never like it on any mod... its boring.

    On the second screen, on the floor. Thats the texture I mean, that is a bit overused.

    You got a good start there Angel, but I suggest you use a little more contrast in your lighting, I'm sure the env_gamma will help a little. Also, the grate seems not to be set to solid 255.

    Yeah, the env_gamma is really cool. Totally changes the look of the HL engine, but because it can make such a huge difference to the lighting you should probably try and settle on a level for it early in your map..

    Indeed, the env_gamma is just as important in NS as the light itself. Try to set the env_gamma as soon as possible, and throw around with it a bit, see what looks best etc. It really has an unique effect that will make your map look more beautiful.

    yeah i said is sorted some of that stuff out, i accidently selected texture 255 *blush*, i also added pipes under those grates (the texture) and also a few more pipes and a pipe box on the ceiling along the side (pic 1 left pic 2 right). that will be updated after i have done the turbo lift (the cylinder thing in both pics). also, what does anyone think of a elevator for the marine spawn (have to get a lift up with team mates) and a long pipe for aliens to crawl up at the start (instead of pipe maybe a ventlation duct with a fan?) also cheers for the output, its hard mapping for a mod u've never played <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->

    I hate small errors like that. Once I did that, and without knowing it, I had copy pasted that very same grate about 3 to 5 times...thank god for multiple selection entity editing.

    env_gamma is my new favorite entity.
    env_particles_custom is edging up on it.
