<div class="IPBDescription">A True Story :P</div> Not many of you know the true fun and ownage of battle gorging, but to make sure you are all aware I will educate you with a story! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> Story time children.
Anyway, a few games back me and 2 friends happened to all be a gorge at the same time, and in the same spot, thats when idea dawned on us. We were to rush into marine start under the cover of early game skulking (you all know the drill) and drop some ocs. Well this isn't you average 1 gorge party dropping some ocs at the end of the game in the marines base while the fades and onoi tear it to shreds. This was in the first minute or so of the game, so we were all a bit worried that we were about to lose 10 res. Anyway we rushed off to their base, and just as we arrived we dropped atleast 6 ocs and heal sprayed each other to prevent death and to fend off several bothersome marines. Once the ocs were up we knew we had won this one, it was only a matter of minutes. As the marines frantically attempted to remove the ocs, other gorges caught on and began to drop their ocs too (a good marine counter strategy to this is to drop a comm chair in between the ocs and your base to take the oc's fire for a while). It was quite hilarious in the ready room at the end of the game too, and I bet the marines were a bit embarrassed.
Anyway thats my battle gorging story, hope you enjoyed. Over with all that crap, if you can get a good squad of gorges together in very early game you might have yourself a similar story. Good luck with it.

Moral of the story: keep some skulks or base defense if you decide to gorg rush, otherwise you're taking an unnecessary chance. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
battle gorge story = i took out *** rines as gorge
gorge rush = ur story
of course a best battlegorge is a 3 hives gorge. I'll talk from that point of view.
So the rines got you cornered down? Got 3 hives but low on resources? get your evolutions going.
first go gorge. then select carapace. Regen won't work against a hmg. i prefer some armor to actually outlive a rine. don't pick redemption. useless with hmg.
So now to pic adren. speed and silence both have little use versus rines. adren is the way togo. If you can push out spit and webs on that speed, you are better.
battlegorge means that you move so just pick SOF.
time to play. remember that you are slow and can't take alot. keep webs on your last used key. Now either start BBing rines base or spitting them. There bound to finish off the easy gorge. Be damn sure to fire webs infront of them. Then spit. do it fast. strafe and jump. most rines lack the skill to keep up and your rate of fire aint that great. So your aim shoudl be fine.
got 10 res? get a OC pushed out. it either gives something to shoot on or actually finishes building. strafing around it, sometimes building it, might help but concentrate on dodging.
if you are low on health you might consider DC instead.
you are there for a reason. rines are a problem and must die, however.. SHOOT THE BASE. adren gives quiet some good shots. So go ahead and shoot. strafing around your buildings might increase performance.
Of course in the end you'll die. If you manage o web you will seriously extend your life. Also teamup with another gorge will again double lifespan.
try to remember this and you might actually take out that big ol' base. Like it should be. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
When a player (you or other on your team (alien) ) says Go BG
Then Go Battle gorge
like rines saying reloate we call this BG! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Anyway, It's much easier if you stay behind higher lifeforms or in groups, constantly healing with adren+healspray. You'll get a kill now and then, and that Onos you're hiding behind will protect you, (Or he should, if he has any sense). It's one of those deals that benefits both partys. Also you'd be better off with regen, as you'll only get hit occasionally.
You can also bait the rines; Sit at the end of a hallway and start spitting at anyone you see. Knowing most rines, they'll think 'OooooOOOooh, fatteh knife kill!' and run after you, at which point you run around the corner and into safety. They run around it shortly after and get decimated by your Onos buddy.
There's no point in battle gorging early in the game, as you could instead devolve to a skulk and do more damage. Or, if enough people are gorge, then you can simply GR the rines.
There's that or there's biling turrets while the enemy are respawning.
For coordinated base raping I prefer a redeem celer gorge as you're becoming hit and run, so you don't need cara and neither do you need adren since you'll only have time for 2-3 bb before you've to run out again.

*web* *spray* *web* spray* *spray*

When I gorge, I don't go back skulk. I stay gorge and help my team get kills by healspraying skulks. Staying gorge is often better, because 1 gorge and 1 skulk is much more powerful then 2 skulks (unless they have a shotgun). Also, if I die as a gorge the marines will think they have scored a victory of some kind, even though I have already droped my buildings.
So thats saving you a lot of res which you can use to get a higher evolution, hive, more chambers at your forward post, etc.
Since I usually battlegorge and try to make it to the next DC I always use carapace.
An easy way to counter that kind of early game gorge rush is simply to give up. Let the aliens waste their res while few marines build a new base. Usually by the time the gorges get in to the base marines have had the time to cap a couple of nodes. Now if you manage to relocate to even a medicore position, the game is yours. There really is not much the aliens can do since they don't have nodes and they wont get any. All they have is a bunch of oc's in worthless location and a bunch of resless gorges. This has worked for me.
