Grenades

<div class="IPBDescription">And Possible Abuse</div> Hey, I was reading the changelog, and it says that each marine will start with one grenade (after the upgrade).

Will it be possible for possible lamers to drop their grenades and have one marine collect them all, and have a crazy grenade run?

Or, do you start with one grenade, and only have a maximum capacity for one grenade? Meaning that if someone drops their grenade, you can't pick it up...

ps. I'm a big fan of the grenades! So I'm just hoping that there is no way to abuse them

    It would have to be a pretty dumb lerk to get the "******* ****" (please don't try to dodge the swear filter. It's there for a reason) blown out of it. With the current build, the best you can do is to scare it off for a bit.

    I had little expirience with ns3, but as I recall you cant throw the grenades as far as in other games or mods. its more like for close distance, when you know you are gonna die but you want to take the enemy with you.....
    But I could be wrong, any way you think grenades are so fun, so you are using only them, only to discover that they suck.....

    I'd prefer a GL now rather than a single grenade. Though it would sure be something after tweaking.

    Haha that would be funny, it would be like 1 guy sits at base before you leave you give him ur gren... goes on like that till JP's he gets first JP flies to a hive unloads his 100 grens into all 3 hives and wins!!

    I'm pretty sure you can't even drop grenades. Besides, this crazy grenade run wouldn't do nearly as much damage as an hmg.

    Whoa. Sounds like grenades are gonna really suck in 3.x. It should at least be able to kill a smaller alien such as a Skulk or Lerk if it lands next to them - damage similar to the Specialists frag nade. From the look of things right now, I think it's going to degenerate into the same useless PoS that the CS HE nade is.

    look, it's 1 single nade, the size of your hand, it should do serious enough damage to kill something big. if it would, then you got nothing to worry about. besides, the comm only needs to upgrade it once, not like giving equipment every time someone spawns.

    now that is bullpoo, and you know it.
    The nades are, tbh, quite useless atm.
    I think it'll get fixed sooner or later.. or at least hope so.

    Nades are pretty much what you said, Tommy. I hardly see anyone using them in combat ( and ever even hitting an alien). However, in normal NS, once upgrade, they're quite useful. A large group of marines with grenade is quite nice for, say, attacking that wol or distracting aliens while you build up a phase gate.

    In addition, the handgrenades are one other way to kill alien resource towers faster.
    I think the grenades are not meant to be used against skulks and other alien players, but rather to give small marine groups a better weapon to take down enemy structures (such as WoL, etc.).
