Will Bilebomb do damage if:
1. You can see the health ring and target.
2. You can't see the health ring but you can see the target.
3. You can't see the structure upon bilebomb's impact.

Bilebomb will NOT do damage if you are under or over the target. So bilebombing from a vent will result in no damage or say bilebombing into holoroom from the upper levels will result in no damage. These are bugs and are fixed in 3.0
It is indeed fixed for 3.0 as Elderwyrm said.

I spose if you just try to aim so that the bilebomb hitbox is the size of an onos and try to avoid it coming close to a wall when you shoot it.

So how was I able to bilebomb a resnode from the top of powersilo, or how was another player able to take out a tf from the vent in reactor room? (both 2.01)

I think you mis understood. I <i>was</i> able to destroy the res node, and the other player <i>was</i> able to destroy the TF, even from a vent.
One of us is misunderstanding, if it is me, dont hesitate to put me straight, but i know what I saw. That resnode did go down.

Mayhaps it's the gorge's butt that needs to be near a wall for it to not work? So if you are in a vent and completely parallel with the vent's corridor it'd be OK? I'm not sure. Maybe it doesn't matter if your gorge's flank is touching a wall or is near a wall? Because the vent on Reactor Room has a bit of leeway behind your if you are standing in the opening, and it's a bit wide. So maybe top/side nearness to the wall doesn't matter, but behind-you-wall closeness matters?
Bleh, it's hard to understand or talk about this bug. So many variables and inconsistancy.
