Will Bilebomb do damage if:

1. You can see the health ring and target.
2. You can't see the health ring but you can see the target.
3. You can't see the structure upon bilebomb's impact.

    A big part of it that you left out is this :

    Bilebomb will NOT do damage if you are under or over the target. So bilebombing from a vent will result in no damage or say bilebombing into holoroom from the upper levels will result in no damage. These are bugs and are fixed in 3.0

    None of those are true (although it may seem that way). Bilebomb will not do damage if you are close to a wall when you fire it. The reason it doesn't do damage is that on the server the bile bomb projectile hits the wall even though on the client it looks like it hits the target.

    It is indeed fixed for 3.0 as Elderwyrm said.

    So if you are on a platform above the target, will the bile bomb miss because it hits the platform or because it's more/less affected by gravity than it looks like on the client's side? Oh wait I remember bile bombing the ms rt on bast along with another gorge from the vent. His bombs seemed to hit, but caused no damage. Maybe the server doesn't even send the right info to the client? And when will the mappers fix that annoying bug on that vent? You can just open it after it has been welded... They should also put a glass there, so the gorges don't kill all the structures in the ms with bile bombs. (I know it's hard to make a moving glass, but it's necessary.)

    Listen to Max if you want to know what the real issue is he is a dev after all.

    I spose if you just try to aim so that the bilebomb hitbox is the size of an onos and try to avoid it coming close to a wall when you shoot it.

    So how was I able to bilebomb a resnode from the top of powersilo, or how was another player able to take out a tf from the vent in reactor room? (both 2.01)

    I think you mis understood. I <i>was</i> able to destroy the res node, and the other player <i>was</i> able to destroy the TF, even from a vent.

    One of us is misunderstanding, if it is me, dont hesitate to put me straight, but i know what I saw. That resnode did go down.

    Can someone clarify what 'close to a wall' means exactly? That's awfully vague, especially with all NS maps being small bendy corridors. I'm almost always close to some wall. How far away are we talking? Does being close to the celing or floor mess it up? If a lerk is flying me over my target and I'm bombing it from above, will that work? On must pubs I end up gorging half the game anyway, since few others will, and I'd like to know that I'm not wasting my bombing efforts.

    it was only a couple of weeks ago. I think that what happens is that no damage is drawn (if drawdamage is 1) but the node still gets destroyed.

    Mayhaps it's the gorge's butt that needs to be near a wall for it to not work? So if you are in a vent and completely parallel with the vent's corridor it'd be OK? I'm not sure. Maybe it doesn't matter if your gorge's flank is touching a wall or is near a wall? Because the vent on Reactor Room has a bit of leeway behind your if you are standing in the opening, and it's a bit wide. So maybe top/side nearness to the wall doesn't matter, but behind-you-wall closeness matters?

    Bleh, it's hard to understand or talk about this bug. So many variables and inconsistancy.
