"cannot Connect To The Steam Network..."

for the past 2-3 days, and I even reinstalled Steam using the installer from Steam's site. But I seem to still have the same problem.
Can someone help me?

Maybe a firewall is on and not letting steam access the internet. Turn the firewall off. Also make sure your internet is working properly at the time you try to connect to steam. The update servers may be busy also.

Amazing how a certain type of people see 'error while using Steam' and assume it's Steam's fault... when 99 out of 100 are PEBKAC errors.
