[edit]I forgot The Beatles.[/edit]

I'm listening to some DJ Virt now, which was linked earlier in the boards (I might search the link down again, if anyone wants it). BT is a nice background. I like Hoobastank, even after its being overplayed... I LOVE The Beatles. Dirty Dozen Brass Band is good, and I'll listen to the occasional Dave Matthews Band. John Williams is always good (except that hideous Batman rendition...what WAS he thinking ?). The artist who did the theme dong for Batman Beyond, Kris something (it's too late). And much, much, much more...
I try to avoid confining myself to any one genre, I'll give almost anything a listen once; my tastes are too varied to do any less. But I like music, pure and simple. It sets the background, and, sometimes, my mood.

The whole problem can be stated quite simply by asking, 'Is there a meaning to music?' My answer would be, 'Yes.' And 'Can you state in so many words what the meaning is?' My answer to that would be, 'No.'
-- Aaron Copland
After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.
-- Aldous Huxley
I don't know anything about music. In my line you don't have to.
-- Elvis Presley
Only sick music makes money today.
-- Friedrich Nietzsche
I also like Nickelback, some Limb Bizkit, some Korn and some other bits from loads of bands.
He's just getting started out, but he's probably gonna be bigger than Dave Matthews.
Other than that... Red Hot Chili Peppers,... And the classics...
CCR, Steppenwolf, Lynard Skynard...
I had you thinking I was cool up to that last one, had I?
[Edit] Forgot the actual post content, heheeheh [/edit]
Anything metal, punk, industrial for start.
Finch, Pulse Ultra, American Headcharge, Taproot, Nonpoint, In Flames, Trust Company, Spine Shank, Soil, Hatebreed, Millencolin, Pennywise, Alkaline Trio, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Disturbed, Cold Chamber, etc etc

And Nem, if you like the eels, have you checked out Abandoned Pools? It's the new band of Mr E's former bassist-- different style, but still high quality stuff.

I would have been pretty suprised if Tommy managed to create something similiar to Eels music - they're after all mainly a platform for E's songwriting.
Still pretty damn good, so I won't complain ;)
They sound fantastic live, too-- I caught them at a small show in Boston, and they were fantastic-- even capped the night off with a great cover of Bjork's 'Army of Me'. Plus, the gal who plays bass for him is hot.
peppers all the way!
The Beatles
The Who
Double Trouble (Stevie Ray Vaughan)
Bruce Springsteen
Eric Clapton
Eagles (To a lesser extent)
Oasis
I hate 99.9% of modern "music" due to the fact that it's mostly a drum machine with someone talking in the background.
--Scythe--
I knew you where cool hahaha =).

The song I have is very similar to the Minibosses's rendition available for download DOOM linked to, yet still, ever-so-slightly, better. I was disappointed, hoping when the Minibosses's song started that the Bubble Man rendition I had was just a clip taken from their track. Although I suspect that my Bubble Man may be recorded by the same gentlemen, perhaps at a show, or something, without their knowing...
Ah, nostalgia. Mega Man 2 was the first game that changed me from someone who played games into a gamer. That game sucked so much free time from me, it's not funny.
I strongly suggest everyone here go buy a NES system and Mega Man 2 on eBay, get all the songs stuck in your head, and then download the songs Rhoads and DOOM linked to.
BathroomMonkey mentioned XTC. I strongly suggest all of you listen to at least one song of theirs: Dear God. Very, very good, and it never gets old.

"I believe the use of noise to make music will increase until we reach a music produced through the aid of electrical instruments which will make available for musical purposes any and all sounds that can be heard."
-- composer John Cage, 1937
I lsiten to msotly music thats been classed as "New Wave Ska" at the moment, bands you may have heard of like Mad Caddies, Snuff and to a lesser extent Less Than Jake and Reel Big Fish. Punk stuffs good like Ramones and older NOFX stuff though some of there new stuff also rocks very much. I mostly listen to small bands that anyone who isn't very much into the UK skapunk scene will not have heard of but APB Bobby Six Killer, Lightyear, Evil Macaroni, Mafia Vs Ninja, Chowder Boy (I know none of you know who i'm tlaking about but what the hell). I also listen to some Megadeth, old sabbath stuff, iron maiden and manowar.
Hate rap and dance/trance/techno/electronic/rave basically anything thats the same 4 bars repeated over and over again with some eejit talking over it
