Lone Attacks?

<div class="IPBDescription">good or bad?!?</div> Often when playing matches with man yothers, I will separate and go the exact opposite of where the main battle is taking place. I will often die from OCs, and frankly, not do too muhc good. But offhand I can recall that while it takes about 10 minutes (the teams were in a stalemate in another area), I am frequently able to eliminate res towers of the opponent so out ofthe way that the other team doesn't notice for the longest time. Sometimes it even leaves the door open for some of that 'lone wolf' sneaky ninja stuff.
Do you think that leaving my team can be justified (even if they are slowly getting pushed back)?

Just figure out how you'd be most useful, and go do that. Killing an RT is very useful. Running off and dying to a turret or something isn't. Apply the same logic to whatever other situation you're in.
Try thinking it as being a double-bladed edged sword.
you kill rts/eggs
trying to sneak a pg
hide in unbuilt hive and wate for it to be put up. then ask for a pg.
its the start of the round and most of the team heads to the main hive. go the other way and get rts.
hideing where the fade/onos will retreat to, to heal.
What happens if EVERYBODY does that?
Everybody running away from where they should be executing the Comms strategy. I mean (at least on pubs) there way more than enough rambos who will do whatever they want anyway. No need to play rambo as well when you got the brains to be a useful and loyal Marine. So if you do this I you should at least check with your Comm so he/she knows what you are doing and if he disagrees tell you to get back in line with the others.
I guess it can be pretty useful, but as stated above doublecheck with you Comm before ignoring his/her orders.

While all the aliens are going to this front, you maybe hop over a couple of OCs and get a siege up by their hive. Even if you don't down the hive you'll take the aliens from the frontline long enough for the rest of the team to gain the ground you're fighting for.
But as others have said, you have to make sure someone is doing the main task and that you will actually do some good by going off on your own else it's just a waste of time and resources.

agreed. Once in a while i would go off ramboing if i know that my teammates are in squads and doing their main job. Taking out two or three alien rts will definately hurt the aliens.

rambo's can actually be very useful to a comm, if they are well skilled. on Tanith with satcom as first hive, i've often had 2 rambos ignoring orders go to chemical transport BUT they did stop most aliens from going anywhere thus i had a lot of mapcontrol early on.
