Wacky Mouse

<div class="IPBDescription">wth.......</div> my mouse has been acting up as of late. specifically, when I fire up HL, it periodically enters a state of brokeness. During this time, moving the mouse won't do a thing, but a second later the game will jerkily act out the movements of the mouse (basically throwing my view all over the place). Other times, the game will think the mouse button is still stuck down. This only started happening after I installed the newest nvidia drivers... anything?

ps I already reinstalled my mouse driver.

Is it wireless? This happens if the batteries are dying/ or the connects getting blocked.

If its a logitech optical, use a black mousepad. apparantly something in the colour messes them up.

nah, its just a normal ps2 mouse. came with the comp.

the problem ONLY happens in game, it seems... but I haven't done anything to change the game so far.

It's resulted in some pretty humiliating conditions, like grenading myself , etc

Go into the options and try messing around with the look sensitivity and invertion and stuff, maybe its something in there.

throw it off a wall a couple of times then try.

Failing that, buy a new one.

let me guess. Pretty soon after chucking it against the wall, you buy a new one. Am I right or am I right?

Same thing happens to me.

Heres some of the things I do in case of tha happens:

1. Slam the mouse against the mousepad.
2. Sit there and wait.
3. Try to use the keyboard.
4. Buy a new one.
5. Smash it with a hammer.
