Veil Lighting Mystery ...

<div class="IPBDescription">Lots of small lights... low r_speeds ...</div> I was wandering through Veil, looked up at the ceiling in the marine spawn. I noticed that there are many small red lights approx. 16x16 in corners and such areas, I was wondering if these were done with Decals applied to the ceiling brush, or seperate brushes themselves? The r_speeds are very low, makes me suspect Decals. Just wanted to know as it my save me valuable compiling time and design time for my own map.

Can't remember who made the map. (Think it was KFS though)

    They are just little squares cut in half to fit against the edge of the wall/ceiling/whatever. Alot of the bigger lights 16x32/64 /etc are done using similar concepts. Veil lighting is indeed very interesting and well done, I concur.

    Those light fixtures will add very little to your r_speeds. Most your looking at is 5wpoly if you func_whatever it and even less if you inset it into the wall. Though that will depend on the wall of course and where you put it <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Using a decal, what a weird way to do it :X
