Should I Stay Or Should I Go

<div class="IPBDescription">the question of base security</div> Alright, I have two basic principles in mind.

1) You either fort you base, or you move it. IP, ARM, then TF. Have People set up turrets and have some individuals go rt.
2) To be a good com, you need a headset.

Alright.

Your thoughts?

    1) nope , rather use mines and rely on the intelligence of your marines. If that's not sufficient , devise different strategies where the security of your base doesn't matter much (spread structures in phased outposts , ready to host emergency relocations)

    2) I hardly ever use the mic as a comm , I'm used to typing orders fast and giving waypoints. If the marines follow them , that's enough to win.

However , elecing TFs and giving orders through voicecomm helps on most pubs. They're adapted (but not effective) settings for pub games.

Oh and btw , welcome to the NS forums.

I disagree, small targets allow for small attacks. It takes alot to stop a fade from doing what it wants to, let alone an ohnos.

    Thanks for this topic,
the Problem with the Strategy is
a problem i have since i play this game.
Everytime i Play this game on a LAN-Party with my friends,
they say : I should play comm, then i say them what i want,
    they follow my waypoints and usually we win --> <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo--> .
But on PubS, up to 50 percent of the players dont follow your WPs,
and if build/do anything, one of the players think "Me as Comm had done this another Way",
and they start crying "noob comm" and want you to get off the CC.
My result of that is, that Playing on PubS is senseless...

actually your english is better then most people who have it as a first language (including myself)

one tactic I have found that works if you have disobedient marines is to make a point of giving weapons etc to those that follow waypoints/build structures.. also refering to people by name tends to make them more likely to follow your orders for some reason. Also to a degree rambos do have their place, 1 or 2 running around knifing alien res nodes and building your own can be of huge benifit to your team while the rest is putting pressure on the hives

The trick about comming in pubs is to KNOW that NO marine will EVER BE OF USE

If you do that, you can win most of the time...
