<div class="IPBDescription">Wherein lies a tasty snack</div>Assuming the coccooning ability is still an inplay feature, how often does that happen?  And exactly what happens to the player that gets cocooned?

I can't remember any stories from the front lines describing such an event, and I don't recall reading anything saying the cocoon ability was removed.  So, I'd appreciate any explinations you could give.  Thanks much  <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->

You mean webs.  Webs are still in, and are quite common.  They cause marines to slow down, and be unable to use their weapons for a short while.

However, the ancient idea of coccooning, wherein an alien would 'capture' a dead or dying marine and take it back to it's hive for a non-specific advantage was only discussed, and never actually implimented.

Come to think of it, I can't remember where I read about 'cooning a marine, but I thought it was a sure thing at the time.  And now you know.. and knowing is...

Cocooning would be cool,  wrap up a marine to munch on later when your rp's are low.

I can see an energy boost from eating a dead marine, but not an RP boost.

The vaguest and one of the strangest image has just popped into my mind...

    *Flashback-esque foggy view*
Alien: "Muahah! Now that I have you wrapped up in this fancy cocoon, you have to tell me everything I want to know!"
    *Evil cackle*
Marine: "What? Do you really expect me to talk?"
Alien: "No, Mr. Marine, I expect you to be foooooooooood! Muuuuuaaaaaaaaaaaahahahhahahahahah!"
*Cackle goes on for 5 minutes*

*Shudder* Thank God you can't cocoon Marines... It would be as evil as standing on feigned spies in TFC....

Oh, and it sort-of reminded me of <a href="http://www.gamesworkshop.com/40kuniverse/warhammer40k/tau/Tau_index/Tau_index.htm" target="_blank">the Tau</a>'s allies <a href="http://www.gamesworkshop.com/40kuniverse/warhammer40k/tau/tau_miniatures_gallery/kroot1.htm" target="_blank">the Kroot</a>. Why? Well, you'll probably have to buy the Codex, but let's just say they eat fast-food.... <i>really</i> fast food...

Oh the Kroot, what with eating bodies and then getting genetic material from the dead body, good way of doing things I suppose

Haven't heard much about the blinking ability, but it was in one of Humbaba's stories.  (boy I sure hope I spelled his name right)

Anyways, it would suck if you would get coocooned and nobody would eat you <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->

Hmm... I dunno, getting cocooned and dying from lack of water seems like a good invitation as opposed to being eaten alive, then regurgitated as some structure or given off as sweat.... Oh wait, this isn't Kroot... well then again they don't regurgitate unused remains... for use as buildings, that is.

Imperial Guards are cool, especially Cadians (they look kind of like Axis Wehrmacht or Starship Troopers), but those Tau pulse rifles and railguns can bust things up.... not to mention the Kroot and those smart missile systems. Also, it kind of helps that Tau have 10 ft. tall battlesuits, they look like Protoss, and their armor is cool. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

Wall jumping or "Ollying" was in the old game description\brainstorm on overmind.org but was never put\removed because it was deemed not worth it.
