i play a sick amount of 3.0 because i think its the best version of the game yet
(no flayra didnt pay me to say that)
and yes i did love 1.04
1.04 lovers should come back and love 3.0 just as much if not more... were really adding some solid depth to this game now

... and me. I was considering donating or starting a clan or billing myself as a veteran to try to get in, but I'd rather not bother and just wait till 3.0 comes out.
Speaking of which, what is a vet? I've been playing for about a year, but all of the sudden all these people that started around the time I did began calling themselves vets and getting icons and whatnot? We are clan [PEOPLE]. I'm going to submit an application to HAMBONE to add clan [PEOPLE] to the Veteran list, as some of us have even played NS and many of us have played for six months or more.

We had this mini-unofficial-scrim once and they picked teams in the ready room. I was picked last, yet I got 4 skulk kills on my first life, soon went Fade, and subsequently destroyed RTs and marine outposts while having the most kills on my team. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
I've been in CS clans before; ran my own Quake2 Gloom clan. But I got tired of the scene. Sometimes it's tempting to put random ASCII crap in front of my name in-game so people pay attention to the fact that I'm holding the team up in many games.

/edit just hambone and elven thief handle the vets, and ya they handle everyone... and u can tell if they r suppose to or not just by the simple icon.. and the clan leader did hand it out, but only to the ppl he gave the steamid of to hambone/elven thief
Yeah, I hurt they have scorpians and lorks.
That's not it at all.
Clan leaders sign everybody up with Elven or HAMBONE. You get a icon, which means your STEAM ID is in the auth server.
You get access to the forums. On the forums is a link to a passworded file. The file is 3.0. DL.
Even if somebody started handing out the link like candy it'd be pointless because, A. you can't make servers with the client, which is all you get from the link. B. You can't join a team.
So, basically, your sitting in the server, without an icon, while attracting attention to yourself. I'm sure that one of the people would be perceptive enough to help you out the door, of course.
So.. thats 1200 vets, 60-65 PTs... 5-6 devs/pt leads... and 800-850 consties.
Thats actually kinda odd from the way I see it. I mean, when the beta program opened up to constellation members I kinda expected it to skyrocket.. or even just bounce up a little. There really isn't that many consties =/

Yeah, I know. Like I said, I've been a clan leader and a squad leader in another clan. Admittedly, not for NS, but I know that clan play across the board is different from public play, no matter what game. Specialized or exotic strategies, better teamwork, better aiming, etc. My mouse-jockeying skills are no stranger to clan play. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
It just seems sort of weird to allow playtesting based on an arbitrary distinction such as "the NS clan." Then again, maybe I'm the fool since I didn't take advantage sooner and start one for the hell of it. Eh, too late to worry now. Wasn't it estimated at 400-500 before the beta opened up? That would mean the number of consties has nearly doubled.
