Anarchy means absense of government... this does not mean choas and disorder, contrary to what you think, it actually means harmony and complete and total balance, peace, and coexistance.
The reason is obvious... governments are there to control us who cannot be controlled and keeping us from harming each other. If we had no goverment (the defintion of anarchy) then it would mean we had no government due to the fact we have become so perfect a society that there is no need for a government.
Aliens are a democracy, people must do what they think is best for the team based on the actions of others. That is, they will do this if they want to win.

Aliens are Communism or Socialism (I'm gonna get burned for not knowing exactly which, but right now I don't care much) because everything is for the good of the many, the community, the society. Democracy is the group voting for one good, in the kharaa, every alien is willing to give its life INDEPENDENTLY to further the interests of the hive.
<!--QuoteBegin--Forlorn+Dec 6 2003, 12:34 AM--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> (Forlorn @ Dec 6 2003, 12:34 AM)</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Aliens are a democracy, people must do what they think is best for the team based on the actions of others.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd--> Technically, no. The Kharaa operates most like a socialist communitarian collective, not the least bit like a democracy. If you think about it, a democratic system encourages selfishness, because ultimately behind the "one man, one vote" system is an individual's personal preference for a particular style of leadership. Those who vote for the Republicans don't give a s*it what those who vote for the Democrats think. It's a contest to see who has more people on your side. Socialist communitarianism (or communitarian socialism), on the other hand, describes an ideal social situation where people really do place the needs of others alongside or higher than their own. Government, if any (anarchy as you described is possible), is limited and serves only to facilitate the decisions of the community. Think Star Trek. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
With the new Kharaa resource system in 2.0x, the Kharaa team has to cooperate more than ever before in order to win. Since the res pool is divided equally, and gorges get no res bounus, there's a greater emphasis than ever on teamwork since any permagorges can only drop so many structures, and if the team relies on only a few permagorges, the overall tech development will be very slow. Contrast this to if every player drops an RT or chamber at the game's start, and prefers to drop a hive over saving for fade/onos, playing agrresively to contain marine expansion in the meanwhile. Soon enough everyone will have enough for an advanced alien, and you'll either have the marine team going "gg" or at the least a very close and enjoyable game.
[Btw, Asal: the difference between socialism and communism is the element of the state. A socialist community does not necessarily need a strong state to function (and in fact, can take place within any political system from democracy to anarchy) and neither does it describe any particular economic system; communism, on the other hand, is socialism put in practice by a powerful, totalitarian state, and involves the economic aspect (of a state-controlled market). Correct me if I'm wrong, please. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->]

When i said he dropped the first DC, the main word to notice is <b>secure</b>. He got himself stuck in there long before and dispite all his efforts he couldn't get out, even when using the stuck plugin. The DC's only served the purpose of making sure he won't ever get out.
We gave him every chance to put up a second hive, we were asking everyone to do it and trying to do it ourselves, we were the only ones making an effort to get a second hive / benefit the team. Getting himself trapped was the final insult so we sealed him in. Notice that in the screenshots there is no hive. That was our only hive and he had only been trapped by Adonis something like 30 seconds before.
And yes, he can have some fun in the endgame if he wants, we sure did, but the ENTIRE GAME he spent saving res while everyone was whining for more DCs and a second hive. We needed it desperately, we couldn't afford it, he could, and he wasted 100 res going Onos only to get himself trapped.
Another thing to add, notice the 24 res he has. He was stuck in there that long, on 1 RT in a game with 8 players per team, that's a LONG time.
I believe entirely in playing to have fun, but if someone's going to be selfish and ruin the game for all the other players, you end up making your own fun. What's more, this guy wasn't the only guilty party, there were at least 3 others who had saved between 60-80 res only to die shortly after evolving, the entire game was a joke from beginning to end. I play in the spirit of NS, i help my team, i communicate, i place structures and hives for the team's benefit and only when i'm sure that the team is gaining an advantage do i consider spending res on myself.
Don't be so quick to throw around insults, this was all just a bit of fun made at the expense of, what i and many others consider, a griefer. He may well have just got in the CC and spammed CC's everywhere as far as i'm concerned, it ruins the game for everyone, and they deserve whatever they get.
Also, don't go labelling Adonis as a malicious griefer, that's just plain wrong. The entire game he was struggling to benefit the team, as was i, and in the end, you realise that all and any hard work you have put in was completely useless because of several selfish players. We wasted something like 15-20 minutes struggling, and having 30 seconds of fun at the end is a crime?
reminds me of the time myself and one of my clannies had been gorging the whole game and asked someone to put up a hive, they instead went onos, so when they egged to get regen, we dropped a dc on him.... only to have the entire marine team walk into the hive 10 seconds later
needless to say the mc we also dropped didnt quite finish before the marines cleaned us up <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
i mean yeah, all fine and well every team needs people to build RT's and DC's.
but every team also needs some fades/lerks/onos if they want to win, i see so many retards screaming EVERYONE GORGE AND DROP A RES TOWER at the start of the map, the marines would just kill half the gorges before they even made a res and knife the rest of the rts down and skulks without cara couldnt do **** about it.
the majority of games i play in are won by 2-3 people saving for fade/onos and just owning the marine base.
the majority of lost games are when the aliens either build a sensory as first chamber or no1 saves for high lifeforms. Only in very few cases does the whole team 'res ****' but that is rare.

And the only reason he survived is because he was stuck in the hive. Hell, if we had one competant Fade the situation wouldn't have been as dire...
**** are idiots. If you do not build at the beggining of the game you are basically finished. It is ok if you attack the rines as a skulk and then build with the res you saved but usually the whole team will try to **** leaving one gorge to build all rts and 3 dcs also. Yes team does need fades to win. The main problem with res **** is that they dont agree to take any other role than the saver no matter what happens or what the team needs/wants. rest of the team can then either (1) build chambers/rts/hives or try to (2) try to save for fades.
In case 1 the team has good chance to win but none of the builders will get higher lifeforms. So those who refuse to do anything else will get toys (fades) and can have fun with them while those who used their res to buildings are stuck with skulks/gorges for entire game every single round and will not get reward from trying to help the team except for insults from the **** when dcs/hive/whatever arent ready fast enough. unles they do (2) (hoard with others) in which case no one has fun as rines totally own them. (and res **** will insult others for not playing for the team.)
So thanks to res **** the team players are forced to to always play as skulks and gorges. (Or try to find server whit no **** (nearly impossible.))

Remind me never to play on whatever servers you play on, i like my games teamwork orientated and balanced, playing how you suggest throws both out of the window.

I like all kinds of maps. Wither it be siege ect, or just normal NS maps. Which I have to say is a very bad generlization that you give off about "fun" maps.
As for you servers comment. I play on any steam servers so nehy.

It's a team effort to win, why can't people just admit they were a disfunctional team when they lose, instead of placing the blame on anyone but themselves.
Most shameful of all is that people are lauding this griefer as some sort of heroic vigilante. If the server has a rule against res whoring, then present your case to the admins rather than taking the rules into your own hands.
Very terrible form and sportsmanship. You people drag the CS community through the mud claiming they are all immature l337 d00dz but honestly praising an immature griefer who can't handle losing is just as bad.

For the record, when I usually go fade early it's because I got there on my own hard-earned res for kills, not 'your' res.

I'm sorry, but no. They're not meant to be every man for themselves. Everyone takes from the res pool, and while they have total control over their res, what they do affects the whole team, like it or not. I think of it this way: Aliens=democratic, Marines=dictatorship <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I believe its Marines= Dictatorship, Aliens=anarchy <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
If you knew ANYTHING about what anarchy meant, you would have not used it.
That is, they will do this if they want to win.
forlorn, I'm gonna have to disagree with you here.
Technically, no.

*Sigh*
Lighten the hell up dude.
reminds me of the time myself and one of my clannies had been gorging the whole game and asked someone to put up a hive, they instead went onos, so when they egged to get regen, we dropped a dc on him.... only to have the entire marine team walk into the hive 10 seconds later
needless to say the mc we also dropped didnt quite finish before the marines cleaned us up <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
i mean yeah, all fine and well every team needs people to build RT's and DC's.
but every team also needs some fades/lerks/onos if they want to win, i see so many retards screaming EVERYONE GORGE AND DROP A RES TOWER at the start of the map, the marines would just kill half the gorges before they even made a res and knife the rest of the rts down and skulks without cara couldnt do **** about it.
the majority of games i play in are won by 2-3 people saving for fade/onos and just owning the marine base.
the majority of lost games are when the aliens either build a sensory as first chamber or no1 saves for high lifeforms. Only in very few cases does the whole team 'res ****' but that is rare.

Agreed. Higher life forms are needed because skulks alone won't cut it. But none of these res hoarders actually survived for over 2 minutes, barring this Onos. And the only reason he survived is because he was stuck in the hive. Hell, if we had one competant Fade the situation wouldn't have been as dire...
