Nope, once the armoury is dropped the humping begins. I've nailed more than enough LA to realise smacktards are there from the beginning - giving them guns just makes it more obvious.

Heh, nubs always hump on the armory with thier backs turned to the enemy or looking down ontop of the armory. If I ever have to hump for ammo I look forward towards the enemy and never on top, I just become onos food on a gleaming pedestal

everyone hums the armory weather your a noob or not, dont deny it.

a smart marine is a marine that has ammo, whats more stupid ? almost dying from having lots of ammo, or dying on the reload?

I say that what is more stupid is the fact that spending time getting ammo instead of phasing to say a hive is dumb, you lose time and waste res on the base...

100 LMG bullets + 20 pistol bullets is A LOT, unless you want to take down buildings with it or you plan to kill 5+ skullks... I hate those people who will, no matter what, hump up to 150+ lmg bullets in reserve. They probably will dy without reloading anyway and they have just wasted 3 seconds. This gets especially annoying when a phasegate is under attack and several people keep humping the armory: "MUST HAVE AMMO!!!!111"

Whenever i get very low on ammo and am in an unimportant position i just type "kill" in console and teleport right back to main base with ammo... If it's some important location a good commander will answer the "no ammo" call.

Depends on your team. Overconfidence can be a deadly thing to have.

When you pass out shottie/gl/hmg naturally the recipient would grab ammo...you don't want your hmg marine to run off with default ammo load do you ?

I got to admit though some marines think they are invincible with a HA/HMG and will get into situations they can't deal with, whereas a LA would be aware they are a stupid mistake away from being skulk bait.

Well, the only big humper out of the larger guns is the GL, because it fills so slowly, and that means that often the other humpers are full and move out, leaving their GL dude (often me) alone and behind (!). This is not fun for the GL, and I've been mobbed by skulks many times WITHIN SIGHT OF HA/HMGs WHO DON'T WANT TO TURN AROUND AND DEAL WITH SAVING ME. Don't leave your GLs alone, guys, please.

Edit: This turned into a flame-post, so I changed it to be more friendly.

dont forget.. you are playing w/ nerds <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif'><!--endemo--> theyve never humped anything in their lives except for their hands <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

other than that. ammo is good but only take half at the beginning.. but when they have carapace or if u encouter a lerk.. then get full or close to it.. so u waste 2 clips on the lerk.. and then u can kill more things.

for the ha/hmg thing... ppl are stupid and dont stick together.. thats how they die.. if there was 2 together i highly doubt they would die to a skulk unless they are really nubcaekzor!

Actually, a large part of people dying with hmgs, even in groups of 2 or more, is everyone runs out of ammo, or close to it, at the same time. It takes a long time to reload, and if you both have to reload at the same time, one skulk can seriously damage or kill you both. One hmg can hold off waves of skulks, but once he has to reload it can be over. If you have two guys with hmgs, one should fire till he needs to reload, then the other guy steps up and uses his clip, rinse and repeat.

Dieing cause of reload is understandable, but as a comm I see a ha go rambo and get eaten and start text spamming from a pre binded key

I love watching HAs go out alone and get slaughtered.
For some reason, even if I have more kills then anyone, im the last to get armor or a weapon while everyone else has something. So normally i'll sit there and watch each HA get their ammo, and one will go out to the left, then the next one will go to the right, and the next will wait about 10 seconds then move out like they are all invulnerable.

A little off topic, but something that pisses me off as marines is clan members who think just because they have a tag, they are the best. I was playing on Bio last night, and no one wanted to be the commander, so I jumped in. Dropped down my normal stuff, had two marines guarding, and sent everyone else to go cap some res and kill aliens, as they did. Well this one guy, who I've never seen before, keeps yelling in the mic "Oh he sucks lets kick him everyone kick him now" since the very beginning. Finally I just say "go ahead, you do it if your so great" and he jumps in, and continues yelling for everyone to go to the waypoint. To get him to shut up, I grabbed some ammo and started heading towards the other marines way ahead of me. On the walk, I get jumped by two skulks and die, who continue to the base and take it out, two minutes after the new commander took over. Suddenly, its all my fault and " You suck at defending base, you were on the TF the whole time" while I was half way between marine start and Bio. The whole point of this? nothing, Im just sick of people who are "the best and will bring the marines to a victory" just because they have a clan tag.

I would like to state that not everyone who has a tag does this, and that not everyone who does this has a tag, though admittedly the tag makes you more noticable (One reason I have aliases that I play under sometimes, so that I don't seem like an elitist piece of crap because I wear a tag). Even though I have no clue who you're talking about, I'd like to apologize for the NS Clanners who do that, because it isn't right, and I know they won't apologize to you.

Edit: P.S. There are some people out there who will add nonsense tags to their names so that others notice them.

Yea sometimes people think they are so smart but don't have the real patience of a comm, they won a game comming cause they had good rines that followed orders fast, on a pub not everyone will follow orders, so you ignore them and don't give them a gun later, simple as that...

Sometimes people do blame you for something completely insignificant, like sitting there getting ammo, or not phasing immidiately, well its just a game, so if you lose a phase gate, big deal, just phase faster next game...

This thread changed into one about stupidity of marines....

I think that once the commander drops any weapons, people will scramble to them, a sign of a true vet would be to ask once they have a two hive lockdown and nice res flow, not when there are onos'es outside of base, and one rt....

on the other hand, by the time you're in an HA/HMG stage, the game is ending, that means aliens have upgrades+higher lifeforms as wel, however i can't denie this phenomenon, altho i wouldn't know a solution right away <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Personally I always try to make it so I can see the entrances... Though I find that getting on top of the armory normally works really well for this. Get on top, crouch, look at entrances, and angle down a little, and hit e...

One interesting this is that with the armory heal mod servers, you can hit and hold E next to an armory, and it will heal you. You don't need to actualyl be looking at it. (good for lerks)
