Well it seems like there has been a little talk of MMORPGS lately, I was just wondering if you kind people could share a few links with me?
Heres mine:

MUOnline http://www.muonline.com 3D Diablo 2!

Gunbound http://www.gunbound.net Not too bad, like worms online, gets a little boring though.

There is also MMORPG databases but these have non-personal reviews, I want to join an MMORPG that is enjoyable to you guys/girls.

I was thinking of trying MU, except for the fact that the download was going at 600bytes/sec... I might try the DL again though.

EDIT: W00t! Even slower! 405bytes/sec!

Since when was Gunbound an MMORPG. I mean, i haven't got the latest patch yet, but i still haven't found the RPG elements of it.

Also, with a maximum of 8 players per game, it's hardly massively multiplayer.

Think of it this way, HL supports up to 32 players on a single server, that's not considered massively multiplayer. Just adding on a rarely used chat to a game doesn't make it massively multiplayer either. Also, the complete lack of roleplay ultimately denounces it as a role playing game too.

Too true.

I'm still intently watching Planeshift, because their beginning to optimise their engine, as well as moving into the Fighting/Magic elements of the game. The EXP system is probably going to be implemented after those, and thats when its gonna become something big.

I'm really looking forward to that- I already like its look. I just hope they make it more accessable- like configurable controls, as well as a better in-game settings system.

MU is crappy.I swear, diablo 2 was actually more fun than playing that.

1.Its hack n slash.In other words,i might as well just play D2.

2.The graphics for the characters are horrible.

3.Regainign HP is too slow.

4.Mages are royally screwed in that game.

5.My entire game experience consisted of me running out of town, killing 3 mobs, then dying because it was faster than sitting and regaining HP.

6.Mob spawns are FUBARed.There are high level mobs near the town, and the ratio of 2nd-tier mobs to 1st tier-mobs is at least 6-1.In other words, newbies have nothing to kill, and run the risk of some lich just wandering by and blasting them.

Apply to every Beta Test you can. Horizons just finished the European Beta test and that was really fun, they just haven't implemented half the stuff they said they would and they've closed the beta....I'm also signed up for The Saga Of Ryzom but I can't for the life of me remember what that is, and Face Of Mankind which is a cyberpunk universe game and the beta portal for that has just opened.

*cough* Sorry, i didn't realise you meant MMOG, considering you typed MMORPG 4 seperate times. I mean, I could understand it being once, maybe twice, but four times? Sorry, you screwed up.

No, you didn't say HL was an RPG, infact, neither did i. Where did you get that concept from? I was using it as an example. It can support 32 players, that's 24 whole players per game more than Gunbound. HL isn't described as "massively multiplayer" and given that example, neither is Gunbound.

I'm sorry that you fail to grasp these points, as simple as they are. I mean, i wrote them at 04:50am and even i could understand them perfectly. And yes, i do have a lot of spare time between my contract based work and working on my degree.

---------
and some FAQ wich i think its pretty good to know
---------

Q: What is the maximum level you can achieve in Lineage 2?

A: There is no set limit on what level you can achieve, however, the experience requirement increases exponentially so it becomes much harder to gain levels in the high end game.

Q: What are the computer system requirements for Lineage II?

A: Minimum requirements include: Pentium III 800 or above, 256M RAM, and GeForce2 graphic card.

To best enjoy the game's capabilities, we recommend players have a CPU with over one gigabyte Hz, 512M RAM or more, and a GeForce4-quality graphics card.

on a scary note they built it using the unreal engine ^^;
don't remember which build it was though... I think by looking at it, it'd be the UT2k3 builds but I kinda remember it being closer to UT o.O

it's one of the few games where I look at the characters and know straight away I could easily make an avatar I'd like the look of. In most MMORPGs the female characters tend to look really crud but from all the screenshots of L2 I've seen they all look amazing =3
Downside though is the updates on the official English-speaking site are practically non-existant, I'm surprised they bothered updating it again recently because at one point they left it untouched for months. I want in the North American beta when it opens **** XD
• lolfighterlolfighter Snark, Dire Join Date: 2003-04-20 Member: 15693Members
The thing about L2 that bothers me is that it's obviously going for the sexappeal. In the past, that's often proven to be the pretty that tries to hide a bleak gaming experience.
• GeminosityGeminosity :3 Join Date: 2003-09-08 Member: 20667Members
it's an MMORPG, how much more bleak can you get? =3

I've heard it's pretty fun and I'm willing to give it a shot... to be honest though all MMORPGs should have nice graphics and decent character creation, the ugliness of Western MMORPG female chars still occurring today is grinding on my nerves =/

Not sure about SWG, but that aside, most of the current Western sets have abysmal female character faces to choose from. Meanwhile eastern-wise we've got the adorable Ragnarok Online chars, The stylish FFXI chars and even Lineage 2's sleek avatars. Can't the western companies find someone who can draw decent skins and model something non-hideous for crying out loud? ><
You can marvel at their detailed dragons, gasp at the amazingly real cat-like features but humaniod female faces? they either look like badly done cartoons or someone who's been beaten in the face with a stick repeatedly -.-
• lolfighterlolfighter Snark, Dire Join Date: 2003-04-20 Member: 15693Members
Well, point. You're missing something though: This isn't just about the female characters. The male characters tend to look as boring and generic as humanly possible. Can we have some more customization please?
• GeminosityGeminosity :3 Join Date: 2003-09-08 Member: 20667Members
they might look generic but at least they actually look ok, the female ones either look plain ugly, mentally challenged or plastered with makeup. It's like the guys they hire to do the art haven't even seen a woman before ><

When the horizons NDA lifts on friday expect even more ranting =3

This is why they should include the customisationapopaodsa;laleness of Morrowind into an MMORPG. You can make / download any kind of face you want, any armour, you can reskin, wear whatever you want in combination. As far as character customisation, that was the ultimate.

Yeah, it's already got the "run forever until you find something" part nailed down pretty well. Shame that Morrowind's skill system is so vulnerable to macroing.

I feel that since Morrowind's a single player game, they don't really care about people that stand there and jump for a yeah or people that use the levelling up exploit, purely because it's not harming anyone.

However, if it made the leap to an MMORPG they would have to sort those issues, and i feel that they would.

But yeah, i'd love to see a Morrowind MMORPG, it would rox0r my box0r.

World of Warcraft looks promising, if for no other reason than it's fixing some of the major things that have kept me away from the genre. If you're really into PvP, it might not appeal to you much, since they're avoiding emphesizing it.

I still havent found a MMORPG simmilar to my favourite anime series.

.Hack//SIGN. something simmilar to this would be great, i dont get how they havent made a mmorpg based on this series, it doesnt make sense.

its called not having virtual reality

yes, Hack sign is every mmorpg players wet dream, but we can't do anything on that scale for sometime.

And if you simply meen the feel, well the basic ideas of the world were created out of all different mmorpgs.
