i know i only been playin ns for 2 days but i noticed a trend. in every game i played the com is either to slow at getting ppl better weapons, or the com is just stubborn and dosnt give us them. then by the end of the map the aliens are charging as ono's and the marines cant do nout about it <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

The moral of this story is that you don't need uber weapons to win, you need high level weapons and teamwork. See now if I would have tried a ha rush with the 150 res we would have only had 1 res tower and no money for electricity. So if our ha rush would have failed we would have lost, because skulks can kill res which aren't electrified and onos can kill ha marines.
So if marines could buy weapons from machines it would eliminate the need for a comm, and someone could just but 30 hmgs to spend all the teams res.
Oh? When does that early fade usually show up when you comm? Never?

However, if i'm comm'ing small games, it's not unusual to see shotguns out, purely because i can't afford for the marines to die.
Welders, again, i never give them out until there's HA going about, unless it's REALLY necassary. Some maps have little if any weld points to necessitate one, and if the base takes little damage, i just let it slide. I will throw one down, however, if i'm close to losing an important structure or if there is a real need for one.

Once you get HA, you dont leave without a Shotty, HMG, or GL in your hands. HA is usually the key to making marine heavy weapons worth while, and their effectiveness becomes exponentially higher with good teamwork and good welding.
The solution is res. Lots of it. If you can cap 5 RT's by about the midgame or so, you can fast tech to HA and be well on your way to getting the wondrous HA train. Three RT's are minimum, provided you have a good team that can subsist on RFK.
All in All... Teamwork > Res > Upgrades > Weapons & HA

Thats one problem that we have, no weapons see the light of day unless theyre a HA or a JP. LMG's, especially level 3 LMG's, are the most basic gun yes, but theyre fast and accurate and now that hit boxes are being fixed, are going to be much more deadly. This is really all you need because if you dont rambo and you have LA, you can move around faster and take out that pesky onos very quickly with about 5 marines constantly blasting it. There is no need for huge, chunky weapons that cost the res of a vital structure like a res tower or an obs, teamwork and the fact that the mariens are able to CHASE the damn onos instead of running away from the Onos thats probably on low health(usually the reason an onos runs away from anything really...). Teamwork > A couple of HA's or a couple of powerful weapons even though this is becoming less common as the game goes from a 1 hour game to a 20 minute game more bent on ramboing than before but hey, thats what 2.1 is doing, making structures cheaper so u guys can spam away at weapons and upgrades, as well as stim pakcs....oops i mean 'Cat-packs'

Thats not 3/3 weapons/armor and teamwork...thats stupid aliens that didnt rape your 1 hmg and 1 GL with 3 onos + god knows how many skulks,fades and lerks....
