We had great fun, I host a server occasionally, if you want to play, idle in IRC and I might be around sometime to start one for us NS folks
/me downloads
This'll be better for multiplayer, Doom 3 is concentrating on fully a pant-wetting, immersive singleplayer experience.
Is anybody interested in ut2003mods and wants to help on a website?
It is UT2 Unreal Tournenament2003 you either love it or you hate it! (I love it! And the physics engine is superb!
Personally, I had a blast playing, even though the demo has little new to offer but amazing levels!

exactly
The only thing I do like about it is that new game play mode (with the ball).
hell yea!
i LOVE the karma engine -- for those who don't know karma is the animation engine.

If you're getting a pentium 4, and you didn't already have one, you will need a new mobo. Probably new ram too.
I'm really interested in mapping for this baby (if the new editor isn't using the old UE interface *shudder*), but mods... I guess it's all Unreal Scrpit again, which makes total conversions and similiar grand - style mods pretty much impossible.

Yah. Why can't they just use C/C++ like everyone else?
And I'm sad now, because I don't want to put in a mobo. Maybe someone else around 'ere will do it for me.
i was a little disappointed - the gameplay/weapons/movement/interface is pretty much the exact same as UT. the speed and dueling seems awfully fast and quake3-ish. i highly doubt ill be playing this online (hell, i got sick of UT a loooong time ago, so why should i indulge myself in the SAME gameplay once again?) they only reason i'd get the full game is for the new unrealed, of course.
the only thing that is truly different is the engine, which is very impressive. with fully details it was actually somewhat playable on my gf2. some sections of the map had so many details that i couldn't take it all in at once. crazy!
cant wait to map for this.
Graphicswise, it's really good, and I'm impressed that it runs well on my dinky little 16 MB graphics card. (I'm far from the highest detail level, but even at this point it looks a lot better than HL.) Weapons models aren't the best, but the maps and textures look really good.
They don't have to - that's what Ion Storm is for, after all

Besides there is Unreal 2
I am looking forward to seeing what the engine has to offer in terms of mods and other games.
Look at how much work went into everything, the static meshes (map models), the physics, the textures (most, I hear are 1024x1024), the player models, the skins, the sounds, what does it all add up to? A lot of time, effort, and of course, quality.
I dont like the gameplay much myself, but surely Im going to pick this one up and make it my next game to start mapping, and start a mod for.
I am planning out a mod, if you guys are interested, give me a message on here, or check my profile for message programs. Here's what our team is so far;
- 2 mappers
- 2 modellers
- 1 2d artist
- 1 other guy for ideas, concepts, and some other things
Setting is around 2050... and of course if you're interested, ask and you will get more information on the topic
