hey guys, we need you!
Hello NS'rs.
My name is Zachary Duff, and I am developing an FPS. At the moment, we have a large team of coders and modellers, but no texture artists and we need another mapper.
Thsi game is by no means a new venture, as we have been solidly developing for a year now, and are coming close to a release.
The game is sci-fi, has over 10 weapons, involving storyline, and a in-house engine. What we need now is a Texture maker who can develop sci-fi textures like in NS- high quality. If any of you are intertested in Mapping fro us also, the maps are mainly sci-fi places, ie, spacestation, meteor, etc.
We arent a commercial company yet, were still indi developers, but we would be very appreciative if you joined us and helped us.
At the moment, payment isnt an option because we have no funding and haveto fork out the nomey ourselves.
For more info drop over to Greenlight Developmentand go to our forums, or email me at zac@glightdev.com

Edit: Did some more reading in your forums and I still don't know much more about your project other than the game is called "Company". Maybe some more details about what yall are trying to do, where the game takes place, the background story, I don't know something.
Edit2: BTW, welcome to the NS forums, kinda an interesting first post IMO. Enjoy your stay and don't forget to pick up some flame resistant gear.
It is in now way a half life mod
The gemaplay is a mixture between Deus Ex and Half-life, and it will have multiplayer capabilities as well. The reason why it looks so half-life is because we dont have a proper texture mapper to do the necessary sci-fi textures.
Some of the backstory,

QUOTE

Set 1000 years after man first descovered the ability to travel using space folding, you play Isaac Peters, a Capitain in the Earth Government Marine Core. After a failed mission to a newly discovered alien planet, you are charged with the manslaughter of your team, and are discharged. 13 yeasr later, you make your way in life as a space trader, forgetting the long path of destruction that was your past.
Gameplay commences as you pick up 2 tourists on your way to the Yelnith Meteor resort to drop off supplies.
The tourists seem edgy and unsure of their surroindings, like they fell as though they are being watched. When you arrive at the meteor resort, you drop off your cargo and make your way to the private booths on the other side of the ship. You sit back, enjoying the drink and listening to the low chatter of patrons. Suddenly, the lights go out...you hear gunshots...

Thats a bit of the story leadin up to the forst level. Basically, the game is called Company. It revolves around 3 different factions, the Government, the Pirates, and the Aliens. After the event of the first level, the main character is given a secret force, and he doesnt know it. It is the main life source of the aliens, and when used by a lower being, it changes their DNA and gives them a superhuman quality. The alien force alows the user precognition, speed, and the ability to see what others are seeing. throughout the game, the player gets more and more abilities, and has to use them as the game continues.
But it isnt all about this mysterious force.
"The company" as they are known, are a shadowy organisation, not being led by one man, but being an entity in itslef, an unknown quantity, intent on getting this life force. Throughout the game, the player is chased by this company, and he works his way to find out who is at the top, while pursuing one of the 3 storylines availiable.
The three playable storylines are :
Government Marine
here you play as a marine, and you chose this story in-game
Pirate
Same as marine
On your own
You play the game as a lone wolf.
I hope this helps any of you

Oh yeah, and I'd suggest geting someone to work on your site a bit. It feels a bit to amaturish and there are some improvements that could be made.
Textures use 256 color palets and are compiled into wad files so the engine can work with them
Levels are BSP based and are created in the editor Hammer
Just go over things like that and tell a bit about how they are edited. Hope I'm helping you out some.
The levels are made in Valve Hammer. Im not sure what the standard for texture sizes is, but i believe we are using it
Btw, if you do help, you will get a LOT more information on it

could be interested in map making as my texture skills are fairly poor
It's called GreenLight and has been in development for over a year now from what I recall. I hope you aren't planning on using the name Greenlight for the game cause you would get involved in lots of trouble.
Invasion Works is closely associated with the DoD-team and Valve so ...
Hey, I got bored and made a site for ya anyhow. I'm really bored
:Edit: you might have to copy it and paste it int your browser to get it to work.
If you could help us, that would be excelent! I dont have much time on my hands, so if you could help, please drop over to our website!

Our game isnt called Greenlight. The game is called company, but our Game development company is called GreenLight Development, quite distinct from our game.
Fluffy,
The game engine is being coded in DarkBasic Pro and c++ , and should be capable of Hlaf-life+ quality visuals. We are able to use pixel shaders etc as well, so with a good system, it will look very nice indeed.
Uffo,
If you would like to know more, go to our website,GreenLight Development and go to the forums.

(Please note that these forums require compression to meet size limitations, the original BMP looks better.)
And this is a Grenade skin FYI (As if you couldn't tell)
You do level textureing as well?

I don't mean to be the bad guy or anything here, and good luck with your project. I'm just not sure if this is the place to promote it.
Anyhow why don't you use QuArK as a free open source editor for your game. There are already a few freeware engines using it, including a completly new engine supporting shaders, shadows, bumpmapping and so on. This means more freedom and no illegal usage of Hammer.
