[wip] Klammor Machine Pistol

<div class="IPBDescription">first modeling attempt!</div> Hi, I am trying to design and model a sort of different-looking gun.

<img src='http://se.x0r.us/beigegoo/archive2/KLAMMOR.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'>

Here's a brief description I wrote to... uh, describe it.

Klammor Machine Pistol

The Klammor is the epitome of the philosophy Alyushin Munitions has been taking for generations - when you need bullets, you need a lot of them and you need 'em fast. In the Commission Weapon Trials, however, the Klamomor was rejected as the official sidearm for the Commission; it was too inaccurate even for them. Alyushin Munitions ended up sending the extra Klammors to various border outposts. It was often a common practice for SSC members to brandish Klammors at TSA officers, even though they didn't use them; they were a mean-looking weapon, for sure.

It's held side-to-side with two barrels on each end. They fire 5mm flechettes which don't do a lot of damage individually, but concentrated fire can put the most determined skulk down. Probably give it a healthy ammo capacity and compensate with low damage.

It is sort of like the Halo plasma rifle except it uses bullets.

I am already thinking the clip is too large. Perhaps a less wide clip, and bring the handle in a few centimeters, past the very end, to balance it out. Or have one clip on each side, loaded along the body of each.

Anyway, if you have any suggestions or comments please post them.

Thanks.

Wait, is that top-view, or 90 degrees turned side view?

interesting concept... but the trigger realllly shouldn't go there. Meybe the side where the reciever is should be thicker than the other side.. just to give it a better sens of how it should be held or som'n.

Here's a couple of additional takes on it, based on comments here and some other stuff people said.

Reminds me of Halo. A gun like that wouldn't work, it could easily spin left and right in your hand.

Don't listen to them, they all want realism in their guns, i mean, WTH is that!?

Anyhow, great design, and i like the backstory you made for it <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Hmm.

How many polygons or triangles or whatnot should weapons be, sizewise?

And if I'm, say, way way over, how do I optimize?

This looks alot like the machinegun from Messiah if anyone remembers that just with a shortened barrel and held sideways vs the the way it was held in Messiah.

I have not worked on the model lately, because of college and the fact that I am getting frustrated figuring out how to model the curved casing and body of the weapon.

However, I have messed around with sounds for the weapon. It should be pretty easy to recognize what sound I changed, but I think it fits the bill okay.

    <a href='http://se.x0r.us/beigegoo/archive2/klammor-single.wav' target='_blank'>http://se.x0r.us/beigegoo/archive2/klammor-single.wav</a>
    <a href='http://se.x0r.us/beigegoo/archive2/klammor-burst.wav' target='_blank'>http://se.x0r.us/beigegoo/archive2/klammor-burst.wav</a>
    <a href='http://se.x0r.us/beigegoo/archive2/klammor-fullauto.wav' target='_blank'>http://se.x0r.us/beigegoo/archive2/klammor...or-fullauto.wav</a>
    <a href='http://se.x0r.us/beigegoo/archive2/klammor-draw.wav' target='_blank'>http://se.x0r.us/beigegoo/archive2/klammor-draw.wav</a>

The weapon will probably be like the assault rifle in Halo - weak, but puts lots of bullets in the air quickly.

I think he might of meant that its not going to co-operate with the muzzle flashes unless you change them.
