Very basic idea

I've read most of the information on the site and most of it is very helpful. I love Six Days in Sanjii!
The problem I have is that in some bits the overall idea of the game gets pretty complex. I am wondering if it is possible to give me a basic idea of the game and tell me if it is easy to pick up?
Thx

It would be nice to see a brief overview... maybe in the faq or something?

I'm assuming I'm missing something...?

The readyroom was started up by MonsE (before he was a team member if I'm not mistaken... please correct me if I am) becuase... the main site wasn't updated enough! <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
I'm thinking maybe rather than having hordes of info and screenshots, whatever, over at the main site... they opted for a more professional and sleek look. Really just speculation though. And... rather than throw a perfectly good site down the drain (readyroom.org), MonsE just kept at that for updates and goodies.
Also... didn't Comprox design part of (if not all of) the readyroom? He's not a team member, so... Dunno. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

Heh, I think that's safe to assume. Emphasis on deserved. <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->
The basic idea is basically a complex team deathmatch right now. The first team, the marines, are organized by a commander with an rts style veiw. He selects what to give to what marine, and can even order them to move to a certain area. This is like a RTS for the commander, he gathers resources to buy upgrades/weps and bosses around the marine PC's.
The aleins are not all on there own either, they have the hive mind, a NPC. The hive mind simple does things like allows aliens to see a marine an ally alein can see and you cannot. A collect mind on all the data if you will, think borg. The aleins gather resources and they are more or less(well less actually) divided amoung the aliens evenly. Each individual alien can upgrade, change class.
I am an idiot and prollt 3/4th s of this is wrong, but is this what you wanted?
What the--?? GET BACK IN YOUR CELL, SLAVE! CODE! CODE! CODE!!!!!
<i>when it's done when it's done when it's done when it's done when it's done...</i>

Hopefully the emphasis is also on quick. <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->
Hivemind is basically just an ability for every alien to know what the others see, there is no actual commander class at all, not even NPC.
The rest is close enough <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
