Help again...
Hi. I'm having some problems with adding new sky textures. I know I can send the problem to places like "The Almanac", and stuff, but it takes too long to get a reply. Anyways:
Okay, so I downloaded this new sky "box" (6 bmps, and 6tgas). I created a new .pak file, "pak2.pak". In there, I created a folder named "gfx", and inside gfx, a folder named "env". Inside env, I copied all the new sky textures. I saved and created a new map. Map properties and typed the name of the new sky textures ("reach" in this case). I saved and runned. Nope, just the old dessert, with it's blinding heat/sun (brightness problems ). Anyways, I saved the pak2.pak into the hl/valve dir, so it should work. I did as ordered by "The Almanac". Anyone knows the sollution of this problem?
PS, yes i have downloaded the Zoner's tools, no problemo.

Are you sure you typed in the right name? You must type in ALL of the sky name apart from the last two letters.

So if for EG your sky files are named something similar to marssky_rt, then you must put 'marssky_' into the map properties.

There is no need to create a .pak file. Just save your .tga's and .bmp's in your X:/xxx/Half-Life/[mod]/gfx/env folder and everyting is fine. Now you only need to enter in the world-properties-dialog of ValveHammer the name of your skybox and it should work.

Merkaba: Yes, I typed the whole name, maybe missed "_", but I'll try again.
    Thanx for the tips.

    /me agrees with ramses...

screw the pak file and just put it in your nstr/gfx/env directory.... and just put the name of the file minus the direction at the end... ie prettyskyup.tga would be prettysky in worldcraft..
