septemeber 11...

Remember i was playing T2 (before i realised that it sucks..), and a guy in my clan start taking about what we think about the attack, so i turned on CNN, and there it was.

Those people that jumped out... it looked really unnatural, dont you think?

Lookd more like something whitout a spine...

I dont think there's gonna be a new terrorist attack on 11.09 from the talibans, but there might be some looner who blows up a police station or something, claming he's whit the talibans.

Now, now, MonsE.
Tactics wasn't mocking the horrible happenings, he was commenting on the attitude many people will have towards 11/9 in only a few more years in a satirical way. If anything, he was advocating exactely the opinion that made you nuke his post.

Back on topic:

I remember exactely what I did when I heard of it - sending Freestyler an E-Birthday card with Dirty Harry motive. Fate can be tasteless at times.

I was, as most certainly everyone, shocked; switched the TV on just when the second plane hit the towers. From then, I just couldn't think anymore. I was just sitting there, watching CNN for about five hours. It was impressive how objective, how fair the US media were at that day - no accusing anyone, none of the truly shocking pictures we saw some time later, only information.

I doubt that the 'real' terrorists will do anything tomorrow - they intend to shock, and you can't really do that if everyone is half expecting something.

BTW, executor: None of us has seen enough people jumping out of windows to really say something about this, has someone?

The people that jumped out took the faster, more civil way of dying instead of being literally roasted alive. If I had no chance I honestly think I would have jumped out too. It was a surreal feeling, watching the planes hit, seeing the people jump. You never think that something like this will happen in your lifetime, but big events in one's lifetime are good for you, your eyes get opened up to the real world. Some wish that they didn't have to witness this, but this is truly the time to be alive.

I don´t think that they are going to attack......
I was playing cs, and i switched on the tv and i tunned cnn to see what time was it.... and 10 secs later they sayed that a plane crashed on the twin towers.... It was really confusing..... Then another plane crashed, and i couldn´t believe it, then the pentagon one crashed too, i was really shocked and stayed playin cs and watchin cnn all the day....

It was indeed a tragic day. It is even more tragic that this sad event is now being instrumentalized to justify wars of aggression. I believe this escalation of violence is exactly what the terrorists wanted to achieve. That's also why I doubt there will be new attacks; the terrorists already have what they wanted: fear, hatred, irrationality.

Because these terrorist listen so well to reason after all. We should have brought them to the bargaining table for a calm, relaxed discussion.

CD, let's keep the politics down for tomorrow.
9/11 is really a tragedy too big to start arguing about right now - it just can't become a rational debate.

Well... Sept. 11 was quite the tragedy, I'm sure there's no way to really console those effected.

But what pisses me off is that corperations are MARKETING off what happened. The prices of American flags going up soon after the attacks was no coincidence. -_-

And you can bet your Tuba that there's gonna be a multitude of sappy programs about that day, all just to increase viewer intake and not really so much about remembering those who perished.

Hmph, somethings about America I really dislike. >=\

My 2 ¥.

Good point Zcaliber. Although you could argue that since we were attacked for our economic prowess (amongst other reasons), uppping the price of flags is a tasty irony against the terrorists:

'See, you only made us comsume some more, #############'

Funny, it wasn't taken as such a huge tragedy in New York. Most people(with the obvious exception of the victims' relatives) returned to normal lives very shortly after the attack. I know I did, and I live roughly a 10 minute walk from where the World Trade Center once was.

A small south asian restaurant that I like is a lot closer to "ground zero" than my house. It's run by a family of Muslims from Pakistan. There are a number of other stores in the area also run by muslims, some of which were destroyed in the attacks with the employees killed. I wonder what the Koran says about things like that?

The terrorist who attack the US on Sept. 11 were NOT following the Koran.

The Koran is much like the Bible - it teaches NON-Violence. It is only because of sadistic pigs who twist those words and brainwash people into "zealots" that the Muslim religion has a bad name. They are good people. It could have just as easily happened to Christianity.

rob6264,

what u said really hit the spot. its true, that the Koran teaches non-violence as with every true "white religion " in the world. 'White' as in pure/clean.

But i hate to turn this into a religious spam/war but i sincerely think that people shouldn't EVER touch the word 'religion' especially in such a context. its just not fair. religion is something greater (both in a bad and good way) being over-zealous is terrible, and being too ignornant and following blindly is terrible too. either way, i feel that overly religious people are the worst people to have on any side during any conflict.

what sep 11 did was make very day in vertain countries a living hell not cause of the bombing and sadness but the racial and religious aspects of it. it sucks! cmon a day after the bombing, u see some races beating up on muslims all over the world. what the hell is with that? even in my school in Singapore FFS.

its really sad... so lets all pls keep religion out of the discussion o.k? :/

Although I didn't lose anyone close to me, nor do I know anyone personally that did, it's still quite shocking when you grow up your whole life thinking you live in this untouchable country and then something like this happens. I think the biggest shock was when they switched over to Pentagon in flames.

Most of the attack had happend while I was on the bus to school....I had originally heard it was an accident...the information flow at school was a slow trickle....I did not like however the presidents original response to it however.....He insisted on prayer and consorted mostly with religious groups personally it sent out the message "This is a christian nation and you just live here." I think the president should be focusing on tangible ideas in a time like that not spirituality. The presidential podium is not a place for religion. If some choose to turn to it so be it but the president should not try to suggest or push it on people. In a time like that the people should be able to look to the president for tangible help and hope. He should be strong enough so that people are not forced to look past him to a god that many US citzens do not believe in.

I don't know what Tact said, so I can't comment.

However, the media has abandoned its original sense of civility and compassion for the victims that it had a year ago, and is instead milking the tragedy for all it's worth. Every news site and newspaper and radio station and TV channel is just taking every tiny bit of info they can get and spewing it out there to take advantage of the public.

I have completely avoided the media since earlier in the day when I saw what was being done, and I will continue to avoid it until the week is up and the memory of the dead is no longer commercialized.
