<div class="IPBDescription"> - willing to pay!</div> ok, first, i'm posting this here for the following reasons:
<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->General Discussion
Give feedback on features, <b>ask questions</b>, learn and <b>contribute</b>.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

now... i'm looking for perl coders to help with my Natural Selection customization website, i have the code from the site i had before, but it is no longer working and i need it working so i can get the site back up. (this is the ask questions)

i'm in desperate need of help, because i'm tired of moderating posts looking for custom models (all of the ones being asked for were on my site) and well, it would be nice to have a working website. (this is the contribute)

in the title i mentioned that i was willing to pay... depending on how fast and how close to the previos code you can get, i'm willing to pay somewhere like $25... nothing major, but it'll buy you a case of Bawlz for when 2.1 comes out...

anyway, either PM me on the boards, pick up one of the ways to contact me below my post, or e-mail me at rose@neotech.cc

    why don't you use php? many more people know it and it has the same possibilities than perl.

    its also faster then perl, and more stable <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Maybe it's the fact that some hosts don't allow PHP (or advanced PHP to be precise)

    Honestly I think someone should go for the job soon, I need the Steam skin badly....or should I say, to store in my PC, too much extra space.... :/

    If you can state the project specification needs here, someone might just feel very helpful and kind <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
    And if that case of bawls can be shipped to norway, I might even look into it(note MIGHT, I do have other things, but if its nothing TOO major, I'm a candidate.).

    But tell us what the site needs.

    Delarosa, chances are there isn't much Perl coding involved in fixing it. I'd be willing to take a look. (no charge)

    PS. I'm not a Perl expert. I've just used and edited the code alot. (only one complete program that I wrote by myself)

    well, the project needs:

    <b>main page:</b> able to post announcements, and have links... obvously to the sub-sections
    <b>sub section 1 : </b>same as main page... also links to it's sub page...
    <b>sub-sub page: </b>this is basically a list in tables... click on one of the links in the table and it creates a pop-up
    <b>pop-up:</b> includes 3 files, preview image, description text file, and specification text file.... (SHOULD, doesn't need to have a close button/link)

    <b>database file:</b> entry name | location of folder containing the things needed for the popup | location of the zip | # of downloads...

    the download # increment isn't mandatory, just a little plus...

    <span style='font-size:8pt;line-height:100%'>
    <u><b>php OR perl work, i'm not picky...</b></u></span>

    if you can get the first section to work on my server, i will be able to complete the work myself and duplicate it for the 5 others...

    nothing where perl could be better than php...

    ... php "portal" packages, or forum "portal(s)" are not acceptable for this type of site, i've already looked into them.

    Of course, building your site on it would be cheap... but you can look in the code of that stuff and take/rewrite some interesting parts if you need to.
