Idea is fine, but people will take offense to yours.

You know that lots off people who <i>have</i> war stories would most likly not want to share them as it would most likly be very painful, and in RL this stuff isn't cool.

I didnt say anything offensive, only stated facts!

Who did i offend?

All i said was what happend to my family during WW2, some died, some didnt.

I didnt even offense the nazis.

So who would have taken offense from that post?

Ahh... never mind, dosent matter.

They aren't Nazis anymore. If I lived in Germany, I would still take offense to people talking like that, no matter how much I hated the Nazis myself. Like people get mad if someone kills an American citizen, even if he was wacky and about to go on a rampage.

yeah. you're right. They're not nazis anymore.
But the 200 people my grandmother blew up, were!

And probably still would be, if it hadent been for her.

I got a nice cleean one my grandpa told me one day.
He was a pilot during WW2, and was doing a recon run with a lancaster over a small beach in England(spelling? Lancaster is a bomber)
Anyway he ran into a flock of seagulls (uh oh), and he tried to escape them.
The flock basically passed them except for 1, which unfortunately ended up in the properler <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'> and destroyed it.
The plane (which was about 50m in the air at the time) fell to the ground 20 meters away from an airfield.
In the end everyone was ok, but it took 3 days to clean out the engine and clean the propeller.
sorry if anyone took offence to this, but my grandpa thought it was hell funny.
Btw he crashed 10 times during the war (not due to bad piloting, but was shotdown). Luckely he made it back everytime to an allied airfield and crashed <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

Again sorry if anyone doesn't like these stories. I ask that if you find offence take them down.

my grandfather was in the navy in WW2, nearly every boat he was on got torpedoed and sunk, he was on teh HMS London for a bit, can't remember if that sunk or not. My uncle served in the army over in ireland for a long time but thats not exactly a "war", he was in cyprus for a bit I think he was in egypt when they had some sort of war type thing over there. He was a tank driver and the best story he ever told me was when on duty in germany he lost control of the tank, plighed striaght through someones living room and into a ditch on the other side. Quality photo of my uncle stood on the rear-end of a huge tank stikcing out of a hole int he ground.

Me and 9 guys pulled dawn partol one night. After too little sleep we dawn or 205lbs of gear and move out to our first rally point. And who would of guessed it, we almost marched right into a company CP (119 guys). We all hit the dirt and Colt, my point is like, "HOLY CR[]P! we need to get the f[]ck out of here"
So I am about to pull out when this guy walks out of his foxhole and takes a ####. He sees us, and he thinks (judging from his eyes) "O shiznat, There they are". I look at colt and we says "there not ready"

we marched right through them like butter, Battle drill one-alpha right on their butt. we cleaned up that camp so not even a bullet case remained, humped out all the intel, ammo, and aks we could find and demoed the rest. We left one bloody cover at the CP mess hall. must have scared the bejesus out of some guy returning from patrol.

Heck of a way to get chicks.....

Story of my late Grandpa, written in a journal of his.

We were playing a 2v2 on Tanith, and I was a level1 near the early-midgame section. I walked into one of the larger rooms (one with a resource node in the center), and saw the orange blob of a marine on the far side of the room. "Hmmm!" says I, because he apparently has not seen me. Tanith's pretty dark right now; standing motionless in the corner, I did not draw any attention to myself.

So I climbed onto the wall and sat in a corner, waiting for him (I think it was Tommy or Mojo?) to approach the hallway below me. Instead, to my joy and rapture, the commander dropped a Resource Tower on the node, and the poor little fool started building. So I crept along the wall behind him, my footsteps inaudible under the sound of the building under construction. Drop down, charge, and he was gibs before he knew what was attacking him.

Then I laid into the RT, but shortly afterwards saw another orange blob - the 2nd marine, Ekaj, come to help build. So I turned around and jumped back onto the wall, climbing into a corner as he approached. He knew there was something else in the room, but couldn't find me... so I maneuvered a bit, then hopped down and jumped him.

Sadly, my party ended there... I might have gotten off a bite, but he did eventually kill me. ): However, I was quite happy to hear him later exclaim "Ok, that's probably the first time I've *ever* been scared in a computer game!"

My grandfather hit a deer while driving a jeep during WWII. I'm not sure whose side the deer was on. *shrug*
