I always found I didn't need to cheat in GTA to have hilarious fun blowing people up =P I mean, you always have a surplus of money to buy stuff... and going to the roof of the parking deck tossing grenades off is just awesome. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

I don't normally derive entertainment from sp games, and the main reason i play them is to see the ending (once i hear the start of a story, i HAVE to hear the end), and sooner or later i just get bored, so on goes god mode so i can see the next FMV/cut scene.
nothing wrong with singleplayer cheats until they act like they completed the game normally... and because they missed out on some of the atmosphere of being low on ammo, etc, when you try to talk to them about it if you did it properly it's almost like you didn't really play quite the same game sometimes =/
It's embarrassing though when you know that by taking your time and without help you can complete a game before your neighbour across the road who's been playing it with the guide open on their lap for practically the whole game =P
Not much point in cheating in most games nowadays. Back in the NES days game genies were cool. You could brek out the battletoads, TMNT3 or other multiplayer game, throw on infinite lives and you were set.
There were tons of secrets in those games anyway. I just wish my NES worked properly so I could beat Mario 3 without Mult-Jump or Infinite Lives and get the inventory full of P-wings once you beat it. If you play games when you're an adult that you did when you were a kid, they're so much easier.
Just look at any of the Mega-Mans....those seemed really hard...now they're unbelievably easy...probably because I'm used to much harder things and many more controller buttons now.
Conclusion: Cheating's okay in cooperative games with your friend, if you're stuck or if you've beat a game.
Muh, I just never have any urge to cheat the first time through.
Besides, the last singleplayer game I played was Max Payne 2, so much fun that I didn't need to cheat. Of course I still play it with codermode on and fiddle around with bullet time speed because the physics of the bullets are so sweet to look at.
It's fun to cheat your way through a game a second time. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
There was nothing like impulse 9, impulse 255 and god on some of the old e1m* maps <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

I don't cheat in SP anymore as much as I used to. Maybe its because games these days are just easier or something. Although I always enjoy a session of Vice City with unlimited health and a nice car, sometimes I just drive around for awhile listening to the radio. Something about radio and cars just fits so perfectly...
BTW, you don't know fun until you try doing a $10,000 race around Vice City with 5 stars.
the great thing about Vice City is that you can never get 100% if you cheat.
hehe.
Me and my friend are at like 89%.
but yeah, I make over 100k a day in VC, so guns are no issue. Plus I get the 50 shells and 120 rounds from the mansion, run up to the save, run back down, restock , repeat ad 1000000 rounds.
Last single player game i played is Jedi Knight III... I Beat it cleanly on jedi master my first through, light side of the force... one saber through the whole game (you can get dual and staff sabers)... defensive powers. Now i am on my 2nd through with a female character, Decided to try not pimping out healing force power first and went with lightning, then i got grip... THEN i got healing (because on the hardest mode, medpacks are few and far between). Some of the hardest parts in that game is to know where to go next, so the only cheat i am using is noclip to fly to my next objective (especially on stupid puzzle levels).
I plan on making this character light side with a staff saber, the next guy i make is gonna be an evil mofo, dunno on what powers i am gonna chose.

it's good... but not really engrossing enough to push the thought of cheating out of your mind.
chrono trigger, tales of phantasia, marvel vs. capcom 2 (don't know if that has cheats), super metroid, zelda (don't know if that has cheats either), etc..
there are a lot of games that will clear your mind of those poisons <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

I think the most fun I had with GTA: Vice City was stealing a tank. Not the mission where you steal the tank, but shooting enough cops and other people to get full stars where the military starts sending tanks after you, THEN stealing one of their tanks.
Haha, I love how you drive a tank into a garage, repaint it the same color green, then drive it back out and the cops have no idea.

Anyway, cheating isn't entirly TOO bad. I use it most of the time cause I'm too lazy to do something but when I bored, I use a cheat that really doesn't help but makes the game more fun. For example: the FISH EYE cheat for the ps2 sims which adds a first person view mode. Other games like old school FFs, I hack the save states for max stats and ultimate **** when I'm bored.

just remembered the one I did <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
I had a Game Genie for my Old School GB.
Going through the little (I meen TINY) book of cheats I picked u pa few trends in them, and basicaly ran the most common sequences to gether to creat TEH UBER HAX!!!
It only seemed to work on one Game (FFLegends 2) Turns your second char into a premenantly stoned medusa with maxed out stats, All Magic, And all of her equipment is FireShields (yah, equiped every where).
When you enter battle the character becomes normal again.
So basicaly what this let you do was 'unequip' those fireshields and all the magic, and well stupid amounts of $$ and all the magic you could want from the begining of the game <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

to take this marginally off-topic, I rarely "cheat", but I almost always follow a walkthrough when I play a game, so that I get absolutely everything and don't have to play through it again after I beat it to figure everything out. I take care not to read any spoilers, heh, because they truly nuke the fun. but without FAQs and walkthroughs, I mean, how many sekrits in FF3(us) would you have found? but it IS still cheating, in a sense, perhaps even more than cheat codes when it comes to RPGs...
Speaking of FFVI and FAQs, today's <a href='http://www.gamefaqs.com' target='_blank'>GameFAQs</a> poll is about your favorite FF game. go represent! I was tempted to say 8 since I know no one likes it but me, but I went with my gut and picked 6... </off_topic>

What's the big deal I say. Sure it may ruin the game for those that cheat. It might make the game end extremely quickly and ruin any chance of replayability, but hey, its SINGLE PLAYER. Nobody loses except the person using the cheat code...

This is always something very important to learn. You must come to know that your immediate circumstances are but a little part of the world. What the media tells you, what your peers tell you, they could well all be lies (in the media's case they definitely are). You must learn that the culture that surrounds you is not the culture of the world. The other nations and the other pursuits possible in this life are not but details and story elements for the stage for which these people in your present life dance their (possibly) retarded **** dance.
Basically, tell them to SUYF. Don't believe the media's lies.
I am always appalled at how set people become once they pass certain 'open' periods in their lives. How ignorant so many people are. How they believe their present circumstances and the media are everything. This makes sense to do if they live in ancient times since what they knew would only be their local conditions, but it is a handicap for dumasses. Anyone of worth can easily realize, there must be more.
end rant. Fukn media. And fukn local dumasses. I may seem bitter - I am. The thing is I am not very able to burn down the media and execute them wholesale. And I started out being too idealistic. I should have just kicked everyone's ****, then moved.
There is no way in hell you're going to make me win Pavlov's house in Call of Duty on Hardened without some sort of cheat. It's damn near impossible, and after that bridge mission, I'm not going to get frustrated again.
