You are way overcritical of your work man. Great job.
Plaguebearer: GREAT! the perfect mixture between realism and appeal. SBV: VERY off-topic, but look here: http://www.battle.net/war3/
Eh? Looks like some wires to me, ace. Since when does a ponytail curve out to the right. If it is a ponytail then I think, PB, you should just make it look regular - just down her back not flung out to one side.
i think it looks good but it would be good it she had bigger breasts
It's wires. Near as I could tell, there's wires comign out of the helmet and into the chest armour in the pic of the marine model I was working from. I decided to have the sway out a bit for simple aesthetic reasons
Thought they were wires - they might just look off in that pose but im sure if this is accepted as the female model that it would look 10x better. Not to mention if you just put the wires at a different angle.
ginger why would it matter? i mean, it's not really needed, and the marine wouldn't be something to overly gawk over, i'm assuming. I'm fine with whatever way they make the female marine (if they do).

Yeah.. it looks cool... only thing, make the breasts a LITTLE bit bigger, just that you see on the first look that its a woman. NS isnt a realism game, because of that you can exaggerate. Like the MArines in SC, the are unpropotional, but the have a great feeling... But, hey.... it looks nice and it would be soooo cool when you go in to marines you can chose men oder women. Emancipation in the future.... *g*
Really why does it matter? I mean she is behind armour so does it matter to show of her breasts as she fights aliens? If you want that stuff i suggest trying the tomb raider forums.
why not just let an actual girl help with the design of the female marine (I hope female marines WILL be in NS someday). ? Then, it wont be drawn after a guys dream, it would be drawn for realistic purpose.. and would IMHO fit better with the entire NS theme
Hmmm, I think the chest size is just fine, however I'm not sure about the hips, most women have larger hips than men. The way you have done this, it just looks plain unrealistic, and quite un-feminine. Apart from that, I think that drawing is great, and if it were colored it could certainly take the place of the first female marine concept art. Great work Plaguebearer
Hey, very nice work, Plague! I think it looks great.
I do agree with Carbon that her hips should be a bit bigger.
Also, just one nitpicky technical comment. Right now her left foot is higher then her right. At the angle she is standing, it would place her left leg forward, which would mean that that the left foot should come down lower then the right. The way it looks now makes it appear as though she has a really short left leg and is slightly tilted to the side.
Yup. The arms aren't the same length, either. I didn't really take a long time on it, like I said... I just got bored in the readyroom while everyone was yacking about the game before (I have a hearing problem, it makes voicecomm VERY difficult to understand, so I usually just ignore you folks ).
Depending on what goes down after work today, maybe I'll take some time to do a proper drawing.
It's a good bit of art, but I do agree that no matter what size you make her breasts, it looks right now like she hasn't got any and that the chestplate is resting right on her ribcage, and she does need slightly wider hips. Just a bit of constructive criticism for you, and it seems nicer than what you gave yourself
I really like it. It looks just like a male marine, except the drawing's facial looks look a lot different. You did a great job.

(im immune to the common "yeah i think my work sucks... but here it is anyway" crap... i have learnt over the years that it is by no means humble. :])
Not too butch, not too delecate, she looks like a marine...
Well done.
