Edit Origins?

Like Editing Skin in HLMV
I was just wondering if there was any way to edit weapon model origins without any fancy software - Kind of like anyone can use HLMV to replace a skin. Even if it requires opening it as a text file or something, and playing with some coordinate values. Thanks for any help

Err..? I think you misunderstood me. I'm talking about weapon origins - what determines a weapon model's position on the screen. What youa re talking about has to do with menu text, help text, etc. as far as I can see. I checked it anyway, but I'm pretty sure that the origin values are somehow embedded into the models themselves, and I was just wondering if there was an easy way to edit and save those for a model.

Use Jed's HLMV, it has an origin modifier.

Woah, thanks $niper - I'll go check it out. File associations weren't working with the normal HLMV anyway, so this should be nice.

Hmm, ok, just a quick side question - File Associations have never worked with the old HLMV, nor do they with this one. The "File Associations" menu option doesn't seem to do anything, and you can't seem to set them manually (it fails to add hlmv.exe to the program association list). Any ideas?

As an addendum to the brief snippet about using Jed's hacked HLMV, it's not so easy as "using it" to "change the origins". What Jed's HLMV does very well is give you numbers that you can then put in to the QC file for a model before recompiling it. However, that means you need to be able t decompile and recompile a model, which HLMV can not do.
