Condition Zero is totally unrelated to to NS...

It is not a new Half Life, it is single player CounterStrike and thats it...

Anyway, if you want to play NS (next update) or CS you will need <a href='http://www.steampowered.com' target='_blank'>Steam</a> to run them <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Ah so if I don't have halflife yet then CZ won't be of any use if I want to play mods?

will there be a way to run ns without steam?

cuz steam uses 1.1.1.1d+ and that doubles the cpu usage in ns.

Actually the CPU used by steam is little. VERY VERY LITTLE. Even less than IRC or HLSW, from what I've heard. And either way- YES, if you have Condition zero, it SHOULD, note the SHOULD work with NS. Why? Cause it uses Half-Life coding. And if not- just having 1 VALVe game gives you access to them all.

He's talking about the SERVER, not the CLIENT.

HLDS x.1.1.1x is very bad with the CPU with even CS, much less NS.

CS retail lets you play NS, so I dont see why CS:CZ wouldnt (after all it does include multiplayer...doesnt it?)

But CS:CZ uses a modified engine, whether NS will work with it at all, let alone online, is another question all together.

Personally, i'd have to say no, but if anyone's tested it (Is CS:CZ even out?) they'll be able to give a final answer and end all this speculation. As far as i can see, CS:CZ is a stand alone game based on a modified engine, i don't see why it would be compatible.

Hey, does NS work with Unreal Tournament?

CZ runs in steam and I've seen DoD, Ricochet and TFC working with it...

He'll be able to download HL which comes with the HL engine files (check your steamapps folder). So yes, you will be able to play NS with CZ.

So if he buys CZ he will be able to download Halflife legitimately to install Natural Selection? or does this involve something else?

Yes, but without a legitimate Half-Life CD Key, he won't be able to play it.
