Alien turrets

<div class="IPBDescription">What do they do/look like?</div>Seeing all these topics about turrets got me thinking... I've never seen an alien turret or heard what it does.  What do they look like?  Do they shoot toxin-laced spikes?  Do they shock you?  Or do they reach out and stab you?

    i think they are like barnacles but on the ground with 3 legs with spikes on and i think they shoot spikes but im not sure so ask a pt

    They shoot globs of corrosive something-or-other, rather like the Gorge's "spit" attack.

    Do those spikes cause damage on contact or are they just for looks?

    That's a good question...  I don't believe they do any contact damage as it stands now (STC), but I can't honestly say I've ever been close enough to one to figure out. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

    It originally was the offensive upgrade building, but then Flayra took those out of the game.  Not one to waste any art, he quickly swapped the model in for the alien turrets, since the offensive upgrade building looked nasty, dangerous, and basically perfect for the turrets.
