    Yeah, with some good layout, you will have a totally kick **** map.

    I like how you use a brown grainy look so much, I don't think one ns map at the moment does so.

    I should start working on a map again...I had an idea, and I have part of a marine start area lying around my HDD somewhere, just waiting to be finished....

    Also: Entropy is a measure of disorder and randomness, for those who don't know.

    Thx for all the feedback <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> Ive been trying many different textures for the map , im happy to see people like them. I wanted to stay away from the "metal" type textures , space being so cold , i figured it made more sense to get resin/plastic type textures in there. Ill be posting new pics soon to show other parts of the map.

    Wurmspawn : The map is about 60% done . I decided to change a big part of the layout , so thats set me back a bit. The idea at first was to do a symmetrical layout, like a pitchfork . I tought this was the best way to give that spaceship feel to the map. But after lots of thinking and reading opinions on the matter , i decided to change the full symmetrical layout.

    Instead, ill have one side of the map taking place under the floors , massive explosions bloking out parts of the map, marines are forced to go trought the "belly" of the ship. This way i can maintain the feeling of symmetry , while making the layout a bit different , and looks and textures will be completly opposite to whats on the other side of the ship.

    i would like to know what people think of this ? any good? or a bad idea?

    That's actually an idea I'd been toying with for my next map - the base layout would be the same, but it would be split across multiple levels and decks and whatnot. I think it's a good way to the balance a symmetrical map automatically offers (particularly in travel time) while not sacrificing anything visually and still letting the player know where he/she is. I figure it's worth a shot, at least, and best of luck with it. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
