<div class="IPBDescription">So i'll personally train people</div> I've noticed that i'm getting a tad bored with NS... not the game, i still love the game, but part of me wishes i was still the young nublet walking around going "Wow! That's cool!".

The other day i saw my favourite server only had one player on, and it was nsplayer. I was in a very good mood that day, so i decided to join and see if i could help him in any way i could. Then some of my friends (who are experienced players) joined, and we had him talking the lingo (so to speak) in no time.

Anyway, i've found that i enjoy teaching people how to play the game, as long as they are willing to learn. So i'm opening up the offer to anyone who would like to learn how to play NS, to simply PM me, and we'll arrange a time and date and server, and we can get going.

To all those other people who are reading this and warming up the flamer, this is not a "I'm the best player in the world, i'll teach you how to be "elite"", this is a "I'm kinda bored with nothing better to do, if you're not quite sure on the basics of NS, i'll help you out."

I've found it is better to teach in game, because if something new comes up, it's easier to ask and answer on the spot.
Anyway, if this offer interests you, simply PM me and we'll sort something out.

There are groups who do this:

The Panda's Jojoshua does this every month, who train new people, and maybe FFT will do this in the next few weeks <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> Were gunna call it The Kharra Academy or sommat

Yeah, if I see a new player, I usually ask him on voice comm if they need some help.

If they respond I show them the ropes, most people are greatful <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

It gives a warm tinglay feeling inside.

Stickman, if you never insert the word "penguin" into another one of your posts, you will be a saint in my book...

Oh yeah and great idea with the newbie thing. Helping newbies is a lot of fun and is very good for the community as a whole as it creates new members who are willing to stick with the game.

And Cartman, you forgot [OldF] clan. They are training Aussies I think. But they have not recieved much attention/had much success with their program as of late.

BTW Every once in a while I will take a newbie under my wing by letting them follow me around. I am by no means an UBAR L337 player. But any experience I have I will share. Knowing what does what and other general rules of the game is more acquired knowledge than any form of skill per say.

I love helping people out but I've never been in a good position to help out like that in NS =/
In most MMOs and stuff I help new players all the time, so if there's a 'help the new players' night I'm up for that ^^

I once wanted to train new players.

Then I started a league to do so.

    [SHAMELESSPLUG]
    <a href='http://www.nsdraft.com' target='_blank'>The Draft</a>
    [/SHAMLESSPLUG]

The draft is locked for now but fear not! If all goes well with season one, season two will be amazing.

ah, the Old Fogies thank you for remembering all the countless hours we spent in OverMedicated waiting to help newbies <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    OverMedicated is now
Totally Unofficial Ns.org Forum Server (but still the same URL :S om.oldf.net)

but we still run Newbie Nights every Tuesday 7pm Pacific Standard Time on it.

IIRC, Jojoshua's thing is for somewhat experience players who wanna get leet? i think.

{DEAD} ran one too, a while back.

so yeah, if you wanna help others, or need some help with the basics, come to Totally Unofficial Ns.org Forum Server, on Tuesdays <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

edit the shortcut of ns on your desktop.

the default install of ns will be -
C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\hl.exe -game ns -noipx -32bpp -nointro -console -numericping

if u want to get rid of 32bit colour then change it to
C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\hl.exe -game ns -noipx -nointro -console -numericping

of course if u lanch NS with an external program like "all seeing eye" then you will need to change the command line switches associated with Hl in that program.

[FONT=Arial] Toasters are a pain in the **** to figure out. Everyone has a new one that gives you all these different choices and buttons that mean nothing to me. What ever happened to simple technology? Where all you had to do was push "1" then start?
