<div class="IPBDescription">Would be nice to know...</div>Ok, I know that the NS team has most if not all the features completed and that they are polishing it and giving it a few finishing touches, but could I maybe perhaps if at all possible rough guess-timate of when it MIGHT come out? You people don't know how bad I want this mod. I have watched the latest video at the ready room and the animation and modeling is so amazing for a mod! I love how they have been keeping to themselves so that they can make the mod perfect before releasing it. But I am tired of Desert Crisis and Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat, I need something new and fresh and when this thing comes out it is the only half-life mod I will be playing. So could someone give me an estimate of when they think it is coming out?

I don't think "Mr. Sarcastic" has a negative meaning, but they've said all that they/we/the community/the playtesters/the Developers know. Sure, we could start to speculate when it's done, but this would only lead to disappointments and rumours.
Read the Forum, hang in IRC and get freaked about every comment of a Developer that MIGHT have a deeper meaning. This is what many of us do. You can also start to map (if you can map) to support the community and to shorten the time of waitning. Perhaps you have some graphic-skills, then there is another thing you can do untill it's out. Or you've some writing-abilities, then write a fan-story or something... Or buy a Server and uprade it every day untill NS is out. Then you've a good server for all of us to play...

Quick, everybody think that the dev team is uploading the public version right now.

Anyways, I think it would be funny if the dev team announced the release date right when they start uploading the file (Flayra says: "As of now Natural Selection will be released today an hour from this post.").

But then again, that might be lethal for the forum server bandwidth.

Actually I would guess that When Its Done is *NOT* when NS will be released, because even after its done there is required testing to make sure that it does indeed work. But of course it could be argued that part of the idea of being "Done" includes testing, which is a valid argument.

Being even more specific about time, one could even say the release would be held up by the time it takes to propogate to mirror sites as well as type out news posts saying its done.

you scare me people. don´t you have to do sth else than sitting in this forum to spectaculate when its coming out? i think you all miss the point of programming, since everyone seems to think that when you fix a bug it is gone, but sometimes it is just surpressed or it even new bugs come up. i know that my self. so just wait untill its out. and btw. i think this is gettin offtopic <img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>
