Are there any?
Are there any bots for download? I use the bots on TOD and have a blast...Just wondering if any bots have been made for NS, yet.
Rcbot works for both marines and alien but the whichbots seem to be much better at combat/attacking as aliens. which bots are restricted to playing as aliens. check them out at http://whichbot.com/
I find a 50/50 mix of rcbot and wbot on the alien team makes for a better game if all the human players are on the marines. If you can get a couple players to play the aliens it helps lots too, they seem to need a leader.
OMG i posted the exact same thing in the general forum...here is a bit of a conversation:
Yes, it was covered before, but I can't recall where or when, but I got a lead from some thread that I think was in the Newbie forum. Anyhow... RCBot, a general bot for Half-Life mods. Can play both sides. WhichBot, specializes in Aliens only. I am sure there may be more, but those where the two that the one thread pointed to. I have yet to figure out how to get them to actually work. I wanted them on my own server so I could have something to play against while learning the game, but when I type in the command to launch them I get a message saying it isn't a valid Half-Life command. this quote ws nicked from "ripley's son" sorry about that...and here is my reply
Thnx....i installed RCbot and it worked fine it just the AI doesnt seem to work very well...maybe its NS v2.01 but they keep falling off edges. I didnt use the commands in the console i used the - key (near to backspace) this gives you a little command thing that allows you to add and remove bots. Also make sure that you put the folder of RCbot into the same one where hl.exe is. You can only play the bots on a LAN game (go to internet, Lan game then create one). Ill check out whichbot...but i am usually an alien so it wont be much use to me. I downloaded my RCbot off of Fileplanet (gamespy) maybe your version is old or something.
sorry bout the spam...hope this helps.
