my logic is that every bullet will hit the fade (if you have good aim), and hopefully you will surpress your pistol ammo into the fade BEFORE he blinks, and once he blinks he is stuck near your group of marines for 2 seconds where the lmg's can finish him off
good job on bringing this up, good thing to discuss
Yes. I use the pistol first on just about everything because it's easier to shave off the first dozen hp with the pistol and finish with the LMG (or shottie) than it is to risk wasting your larger, more powerful LMG clip and having only your ten shots from the pistola left to finish the job.
I only use pistol first in long corridors or large areas when my enemy is far away from me. Which reminds me of yesterday on powersilo, just outside it there is a long corridor, men and a friend stood there guarding it, i was crouched and he stood somewhere behind me. A fade appeared, I had my pistol out unloaded the whole clip while it was blinking towards us, my friend had lmg whipped out and going warm, beffore the fade even blinked to us it died a painful death. (lvl 1 guns only)
sumtimes. i usually unload my lmg into it and finish it off with my pistol for a more disgracing death but sumtimes i pistol it then switch to lmg. i remember 1 time, me and a friend were playing on eclipse. we were at station acess and a onos cums lumbering down the lane goring the rt. we both had shottys but they were useless at that range so we switched to pistols. we unloaded our clips into his ugly face and he came charging at us. we switched to shottys and blasted a couple times. he devoured my friend and retreated so i run after him and knife his butt (literally) until he died (wasnt gonna risk slow shotty/pistol reload)
I use pistol first on everything, don't know if I've got myself into a bad habit by doing do though, but running around for about a month now with my pistol out 90% of the time has made the LMG a piece of cake to use.
When it comes to fade though I have to agree with Appollo, I've only killed a blinking fade once with my pistol ( and he was blinking sideways )and plenty with LMG.
Why are you doing that? Theres not realy a difference. Just works vs Newbies. Not vs me or other good Gamers!! So, pistol + LMg same damage whoc ares whats first. Just a symbol for the leetness of the players, they think so.
It makes no difference at all which you use first, except that the lmg has a bit more spread. The best way to do it isn't one gun or the other; it's the pistol at range and the lmg close up.
As long as you're aim is consistent enough it doesn't matter which way round you unload. Though going down a long corridor I'll have my pistol out for the first half of it for the accuracy at range.
IMHO.. if its a Fade.. he'll blink in, I'll use mym LMG first--
and if you live that long (if you dont live, its still best to use LMG to do maximum dmg)... he'll usually try to blink out, then u'll havta take out ur pistol for more accuracy (a fade blinking off into the distance needs accuracy) and power to snipe him dead b4 he gets a chance to get out of sight.

All depends on situation. If he is at a distance - pistol (carefull aimed shots about 1/3 clip as he is prob coming at me now) Coming at me - switch to lmg for controled bursts as he is prob (should be) blinking at this point. If a survive his attacks (then Im prob not his original target) and he is forced to run, At this point Im porb out of lmg (or close to it) so I switch back to pistol and finish him with remaing 2/3 of clip.
In most cases if I survive a fade attack its more luck that anything else but If it happens then the fade most times will die or be close to it.
tbh I dont think there is any set rule to this. As long as you can switch between the two quickly you should be fine in most cases, but you need to be able to make a quick on the spot judgement call at anytime.
I use pistol at longer range...since I cant kill a fade before it attacks me with a pistol(reload needed) I open with lmg...also, its wounded as it blinks away, and the pistol is 100% accurate, you deal more damage faster especially at longer range...
Well, when i am up close and personal, i like to have my LMG out first, so i can chase a fade to where he is running, I can dish out a huge amount of damage really quick (compared to LMG)
But at long ranges, pistol first, because he will be blinking at you, and those are generally easier shots then up close, and it will make him try to run before even engaging.

For larger lifeforms, it makes sense to lead with the pistol.
