The GIF is to show you and only you what the sky looks like. The TGAs are what Half-Life and it's various mods (read: NS) use. Take all those nifty TGAs and stick them in this folder:

____________________________________________________
DriveLetter:/Program Files/SIERRA/Half-Life/ns/gfx/env
____________________________________________________

Now the names of these TGAs are important so you know how to use them. for instance a sky named DESERT would have the files: DESERTbk, DESERTft, DESERTlf, DESERTrt, DESERTdn and DESERTup, those last two letters are Back, Front, Left, Right Down and Up, these little characters tell HL how to patch the sky together, so ignore the last two letters of your sky name and type that in VHE's Map Properties Dialog. In other words, sticking with my above example, DESERT would be in the (cl_skyname) Edit Box in the Map Properties in VHE. PM or AIM me witha ny further problems, or I suppose you could post here too.

Im having a problem similar to this and since this thread is up ill post it here.

So, ive changed my sky name to cl_eclipse, and every other sky name i can find in my NS folder, and no matter which one i use, i still get the cl_desert sky which is really **** me off.

Got any ideas? Might this be related to my FGD file? ( acutaly i bet it is)

try just typing eclipse in your sky property instead of cl_ecplispe.

**EDIT**
cl_eclipse*
