Playin As Aliens...w/o Using Dcs At All!

<div class="IPBDescription">heres a challenge for all u |337 people</div> I was playin Hera...on a server w/ about...18-20 people on it. We started out by capping hera, then holo....and stopping them from moving further than that. Our 1st hive was data core....

we knew we were gonna kick there ****...so we went w/ MCs 1st. as soon as the 1st mc dropped...someone dropped the vent hive.

after that...SCs....while we still held the rines off w/ just adren gorges.


they relocated to arch after about 25 mins...and then we were stuck <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> w/o the aid of DCs...the oni and fade seemed worthless....until....the gorges/lerks came in <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->



Ive never seen SO MANY gorges/lerks at one time playing. the oni/fades rushed in there...while the lerks used umbra, while the gorges used healspray. someone setup the arch hive..to revert the turrets shots...and I of course....umbra'd the hive w/ the aid of MCs behind me <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->


Of course...we DIDNT need the arch hive...cuz as soon as everyone worked together...umbra-ing, and healing...the oni/fades overun the rines...and the lerks spores kept them at low health.

The match ended after about...55-60 mins. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->




The moral is...YOU DONT ALWAYS NEED DCs...BUT IT MAKES IT EXTREMELY EASY TO WIN W/ THEM!

If you think ur all badass and ****...just try playin W/O DCs....its MUCH harder than you think

    Ive played without DCS before, it requires the ENTIRE team to help out, if just one person goes rambo with onos then **** when he dies ten seconds later, alot is lost...

    I've been in games where the aliens won with absolutely no chambers at all... but they last about a minute and the tactic is called 'skulk rush' XD

    Skulk rush aint a "tactic"...its for n00bs who KNOW thats the only way there gonna win...cuz they got no skillz

    And Acecool is right, it IS very possible to replace DCs...Gorge + Adrenaline is your new and improved mobile DC, if you can get it to work with you. In other words, sometimes MCs provide better healing than DCs.

    trouble is getting your team together to work in the respective roles - which is close to impossible on pubs, hence dcs come first, because that allows for more individual play with minimum negative consequences

    I still think that MC + SC is a very potent offensive combo , it's just not used much because of electrified nodes (requires too much teamwork) and onos savers (takes too long to hit and run , so onos need to be sneaky - not everyone is able to)

    With a worthy 3rd sensory upgrade , and a slight celerity increase , MSD and SMD orders would be perfectly viable in matches. Unlike sens-only games (doomed aliens , elec nodes are invincible) , mov + sens brings unpredictable and interesting gameplay.

    i have no problem going other chambers than DCs as long as we can guarentee getting the second hive up, if the marines manage to lock down 2 hives and aliens have MS or SC then the higher evolutions are gonna suffer big time, it then means u need a higher percentage of gorges to be on the frontline keeping aliens healed.

    which means mc is more viable then sc as first as it will allow gorges to heal for longer lurks to spore longer etc...

    sc can be great if the team works together you can litrelly keep the marines in their base the entire game with some early forward sc chambers and lots of base camping skulks.

    If the gorges are up to the task then by all means you DO NOT need DC, that is, if the gorges will be at the battlefronts healing everyone while they get gunned down by the marines who have an obs with elec tf next to it at every outpost, the problem with many public servers is:

    1> Alien teams will NOT always work together, knowing that the aliens dont "need" to like the marines "need to".

    2>Marine teams/commanders wont always be as bad as the one you have played.

    *Edit - I personally prefer M-D-S as its harder to counter early movement and defence, than it is to counter sensory.

    the key to scs is to blanket the whole map with them so u can move from point A to point B cloaked and at full speed... with mcs next (sci) this works wonders with sof cuase u can c them/they cant c u/and they cant hear u either <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
