I have converted, had problems, but fixed them with the big CS_steaminstall.exe file, put ns and ts into HL folder.

Only problem i have is that sometimes NS crashes when a round is over. EDIT: and the menus.

PS: its not that there are no servers, its that there are no people.

I remember hearing somewhere that some 'crash on round change' problems can be fixed by updating to the latest detonator drivers if you're using an nVidia card =3
I don't have any crash problems so far on steam so I'm not sure if it works or not.

I have Steam, but I don't use it for NS, I can live with the fonts that make your eyes bleed but I can't live with the fact that NS has a 50 % chance of totally locking up my system when I join a team.

Untill that is fixed I won't be playing NS on Steam

I have yet to have any more problems with Steam than with the old HL. Steam looks a lot better than HL because of the refresh rate and color depth is improved.

I'm just waiting for third party mods to have steam installers so I don't have to worry about weird installing problems.

Yea, i got NSteam to work when it came out, but if your server has chat filters, team join forcing, or bots im not playing there.

Basically, I installed Steam a couple weeks ago, finally got it working yesterday... and then woke up this morning to find out my PC was canked. I was late for work trying to fix it, and when I left this morning it was running through yet another virus scan. :/

Not sure if 2.01 fixed the STEAM crashing problems people having with NS :/

I think its true that, there're servers, but just that not that many players playing <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

Hope they fix the problems with STEAM soon <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

I currently play CS under steam, but have no plans to play NS under it until there is official support. (especially after my server's processor fried while upgrading it to Steam--just an unfortunate coincidence to be sure, but still, it gave me the heebie-jeebies).

My client is set up to play WON or STEAM (I prefer WON for now) and my Win32 server's been reverted to WON after changing over due to low traffic.

I play NS on Steam only and I never looked back.

BTW, I encourage some of you who are saying "I will play on Steam when WON goes down" to install Steam now. One of the biggest reasons people had problems with Steam in the first place was that everyone was downloading Steam and the mods at once and overloading the server. If you wait until the day WON goes down, we will probably have that problem again, only worse. You don't want to be stuck without something to play when WON is down and you can't download the proper data from Steam to get it working. But, if you have Steam beforehand, all you'll have to do is log in, and chances are if it is just logging in, it will log in properly despite the heavy bandwidth issues.

I just converted yesterday using the full install. No problems yet, just make sure you follow the helpful instructions on this forum.

I converted to Steam and it is true, that there is a lack of servers. Any new servers (especially European) you set up will be highly appreciated. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Converted, play TS, and CS on it. Play TS and NS on WON.

i do both. but i only play ns useing won. what can i say im a bumb and havent got aroud to converting ns to steam.
if someone wants to wright a program that sets it up for me (and all other lazy people) then noproblem.

my thoughts on steam is it's not ready (buggy) and it uses too much prossesing power.

other isuses it running in odd resolutions. i hate the interface.
longer wate for a game. **** poor FPS in a fire fight, 7 to 15. normal for me is 60 to 90. with steam running the FPS sit around 30 with me just standing there with nothing going on.

im still messing around with it. hopeing to find the magic button that raises the FPS to where in should be.
